I've never been too good at Chemistry, I used to find it dull. But, back in the days, all we got was Web 1.0.

Now, thanks to Professor Martyn Poliakoff, you can enjoy the Periodic table in all its Web 2.0 glory. All 118 elements are explained with YouTube videos filmed at the University of Nottingham.

You will be delighted to know that there are editor's picks (Phosphorus) and a Top 3 section. Apparently, Sodium rules.

Wow, I didn't expect such enthusiasm for this post... Guys, what elements are you high on?

6 carbons, 12 hydrogens and 6 oxygens is what I'm high on. =) (Kudos to anyone who figures it out)

@ mal, I had a hot Asian girl as my chemistry teacher, so I'd have to go with the British guy as my second choice. =p

Sing the elements song if you know it.

    That is awesome!

Alas, I don't think it would have helped my abysmal chemistry grades. But it's still cool.

Seriously this is Awesome! Why didn't I know about this when I was taking chemistry? Now if they can do the same thing for those taking Organic Chem I would be so thrilled!

This ignites the nerd in me.

I had a friend who always wanted to name a band Bismuth.

    This is awesome totally brilliant.
As a trainee chemist i'm totally gonna subscribe.

the periodic table too me is one of the greatest pieces of design ever.

    and it's open source!

See, had my chem teach known about this, then maybe people would have been more awake in her class. Chemistry was fun nonetheless.

Wow, this is definitely something that is going into my homeschooling resources. What a wonderful way to make science come alive and make learning engaging. Prior to this, Greys 3D periodic table was our favorite homeschooling periodic table (he made it because when he heard about the periodic table he thought it was an actual table with all of the elements on it and so he made one in adulthood) Grey's 3D periodic table has got nothing on this.

Taking something old, deconstructing it, rebuilding it, and making it better, more reachable, is the essence of education. Bravo!
