You think these 'manly men' would be able to suck it up in the bench seats.

Year, the Air Force gets all the good stuff.
I say strap them into the cargo seats of a C-130 for their trip. It's a fun ride, especially when the pilot is making a combat landing in Iraq.

Better yet, load them up into a C-23 Sherpa Sky Pig. Let them see what the troops they are sending into war zones are flying in on. Nothing beats an unpreasurized air box with blood stains on the floor.(side note- the C-23's I rode in also doubled as a means of delivering the dead to larger FOB's for preperations for returning stateside.)

Oh yeah, make sure their comrads get to see them pee into a funnel connected to a tube that leads to (probably) the outside of the aircraft.

It'd be a blast and it wouldn't harm them. I flew without leather chairs and pretty colors and I lived. They would, too.

The thing is, though, any leader who wouldn't take the briefcases full of money and the luxury accommodations isn't enough of a hardass to stay in power.
