"In God we trust" may be removed from US coins? I am not particularly religious but I do believe that this country was created on the faith of something greater than us!

  • they can't do this!!!
they raise children in the early 90s to 2007 to believe that Pluto is a planet and the government approved to take that off the map!!!
they raised us-a nation of 300,000,000+(3 mil.) to believe that "In GOD We Trust".they tried to change the Pledge of Allegiance to "one nation under Jesus" instead of "one nation under GOD"like it always has been since the early formation of this country!!!
    why change it now???
    why!!!
i think they're doing this to please the majority of sinful,ATHEIST population, which now because of the war, because of the high gas and food, which now, because of the rising problems are folding under pressure.
my point is:DON'T RAISE A NATION BASED ON SOMETHING YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN AND LIE TO OTHERS ABOUT IT!!!!
(try to tell the bush administraition this.)

  • It's about time.
One of the pivotal things this country was founded on was the separation of church and state (not a belief in God, whether the founding fathers believed in God or not).
This phrase was added to our currency during a rush of religious...erm...feeling during the Civil War, and it should have been removed some time ago.
And don't bring up the pledge, because that God bit was added even later.
Government should not be enforcing any sort of religious belief, positive or negative.
That's what we were *supposed* to have learned from the Dark Ages.

  • This is not a sad story. Things change. God does not make us Americans, and really there is no reason to have anything about god on our money. For those who would claim our founding fathers made this a "christian" or "religious" nation" :
"Christianity neither is, nor ever was a part of the common law. "
"Religions are all alike – founded upon fables and mythologies."
    -Thomas Jefferson

Anyway, save a few pieces of god money, maybe one day it will be worth more to collectors since it is going out of style...

  • 'In God we Trust' is being removed from currency? Damn. I guess I'll have to stop worshiping Procastador - the God of we should have fucking done this a long time ago.

  • I would like to believe that we have progressed in our thinking and beliefs since the time of the founders of this nation. Maybe this country was founded on some sort of a belief in a higher power...........so what. That was then, I live in 21st century not in the 18th century.

It's about time we remove this god nonsense from our public lives, keep your silly beliefs in the home or in the church, those of us who don't believe in the fairy tale should not be forced to have it surround us.
