There are many misconceptions about the condition of albinism. Albinos are not a freak show.

  • putting up a slideshow of people and animals with albinism kind of makes it into a freak show. And using the word beasts doesn't help. Thanks a lot.

  • I don't see it as a freak show at all, but as an informational awareness piece. Check out the YouTube video put together by people with albinism.
    The article is full of helpful info to build understanding for this condition in the general population.
    My brother has albinism and he loved it.

  • I have albinism, too. I just look at other informative videos about other conditions, and they have great facts, resourcews, and interviews. I mean, it only shows the appearance of people with albinism. It says nothing abotu the visual impairment or the lives of these people I mean, you wouldn't see a slideshow of people with cerebral palsy because people would just think, what is wrong with them, why do they look like that. No explanation? I mean, I just don't see the point of a bunch of pictures and nothing else.

  • but why not make a good video documentary..i mean just on this page, there is a video and you saying there are misconceptions...it just makes it seem like the video is going to talk about them or something. I have been thinking about doing an actual video to post at the next NOAH conference, though. Also, I feel like the word beast is outdated as a proper term for something like this. I know it means animal, so why not use the word animal?
