For those who have an iPhone (either original or 3G) or an iPod. The Pwnage 2.0 is out. And you can now jailbreak your iPhone. Unlocking the iPhone 3G will come out soon.

Anyone tried it? I jailbroke my "iPhone Classic" when it was running 1.4. It was neat to be able to install 3rd party apps, but the ensuing instability wasn't worth it. Now that I've upgraded to 2.0 and installed some 3rd party freebie apps, some instability is back, but I hope that will be fixed in 2.0.1 or 2.1 or whatever. I'm much less drawn to jailbreaking my phone now that I can install apps via the AppStore. The only reason I would do it is if the jailbreak allowed other 3rd party apps to be installed via the AppStore, but through other vendors than Apple. No, I don't want free hacked or cracked versions of everything in the AppStore, just stuff that isn't available through that bottleneck yet. A Skype app and a multi-client IM app both come to mind.
