Green Bay ordinance to combat loud mufflers moves forward

If you hear a loud muffler in Green Bay, you'll soon be able to turn the driver in to police.

A loud muffler ordinance needs one more reading before the city council before it can be published and take effect.

The ordinance allows Green Bay residents to fill out a form on the loud vehicle and send it to police, who will investigate and determine if the vehicle owner should be cited.

    • ........they already pull people over and give them a warning for it this is kind of rediculous to take this next step. fricken deal with it. past 10 at night it's a ticket for disturbing the peace during the day who cares. i've never heard a vehicle loud enough that someone standing on the sidewalk should be worried.

    • One of these days I was filming outside on the streets and everything was ok until the past 11/2 hour. After that, I started to get a little confused which car was loud to a point that I could not differentiate with the initial precision what car was loud and what was not since I had been exposed to some very loud cracking mufflers sounds. I also got dizzy inhaling carbon monoxide from their exhausts as well.
