An ancient boab tree, estimated to be around 750 years old, has been replanted by Australian Aboriginals after it was threatened by a road widening scheme. The tree was uprooted and driven 3,200km by truck to a park in the state capital of Perth. The move would have cost around 120,000 Australian dollars (117,000 US), but once the tree's plight was known, contractors offered their services for free. Boab trees can live up to 2,000 years and the replanters have high hopes that it will have better opportunities for survival than ever before.
Really great to read how the contractors were so generous to such an ancient tree, in a time when people are expected to be out just for the money..

These developers have set a good example & shown how progress can continue to thrive, while respecting nature. If our priorities are in order, people with differing agendas can work together to achieve a mutually agreeable outcome. We can't keep pissing in the well & expect to drink a clean glass of water.
