Study shows computer programs can classify dog barks better than humans
Computer programs may be the most accurate tool for studying acoustic communications amongst animals, according to Csaba Molnár from Eötvös Loránd University in Hungary and his research team.

This could lead to some interesting software. Just think, you have "Dogsoft" running in the background and every time your little pooch barks the program translates the communication to a word or concept. "Bark" - Food!, "Bark, bark" - Let's play. One would think that if it could work that way then why not speak and have "Dogsoft" bark back at your dog.
This could also lead to a whole new world of pet anthropomorphism. Now all these pet "psychologists" and "therapists" would be really put to the test. Or maybe people would hear what their dogs had to say and not care. Could the communication barrier between humankind and canines be a social adhesive? -
My question is, without something to check it against how do we know its accurate.
