America is addicted to foreign oil.
It's an addiction that threatens our economy, our environment and our national security. It touches every part of our daily lives and ties our hands as a nation and a people.
The addiction has worsened for decades and now it's reached a point of crisis.

I'm for that plan except in the exclusive use of natural gas to power our cars. I still think that plug in electric should be given the same consideration as long as the electricity comes from renewable energy source.

for everyone who carped about the "dangerous battery" in the Prius, nobody's gotten here yet to ask about the tank of compressed NG in that car???? LOL!
my FIRST LAW.... http://www.plusaf.com/falklaws.htm
:)))))))))))))
and yes, NG-powered IC-engined vehicles ARE way more low-polluting [and easier to make so] because there's no liquid gas to atomize or vaporize... NG just boils when you heat it, and burns quite completely.
of course, it does have the NOx side of things if you have a compression ratio high enough to make the engine worth its weight...
hey... back to NG-powered FUEL CELL CARS?!?!?!?
maybe Slim Pickens has another card up his sleeve if he's pushing NG production that much.
at any rate, if the supply of natural gas increases, it may lower my winter heating bills, AND my home's emergency generator DOES run on natural gas, too!
you GO, guy! -
I voted that up but I would like to see a vehicle moving on non-speculative energy to free the population from the economic slavery and from future wars. I like the French idea of a car moved by air not sure if it is acoustically friendly. The best would be a combination of air, solar, water and electricity. Believe me, it is all possible.

this is interesting because i see nothing else from the U.S. goverment. I like any idea that helps us stop depending on a drug called oil. Wind power could be used by both candidates, the B.S. about using fuel that is 15 yrs. off for cars is nuts. I also believe electric car are a good alternative to natural gas or used they both. from what little i heard from the media. when U.S, had their backs up against the wall or someone threaten us, the auto mobile switched from auto to tanks in One year. I dont believe any crap that comes out of the big 3 anymore.

At least he's trying to do something about it, which is more than can be said about Washington.

Thanks, shadowtrekker! It's nice to see a presentation of this alarming data being broadcast on television. Here's a link to Michael W. Hodges' Grandfather Economic Report that illustrates this problem as well as other threats to our economy.
