Trading standards officers in the UK have warned that we are seeing a flood of 1,000s, if not millions of dodgy AC adaptors on the market. Originating from China, the cheap knock-offs can be at best malfunctional and at worst dangerous, with the potential to fry electronics, electrocute you or even burn your house down. People are being warned to be wary of bargain AC adaptors, particularly for the Nintentdo DS and similar handheld consoles. Some will have exposed wires or miss-shapen pins, though others may be harder to spot.
