I think its sad that we have become so careless that more animals are being killed off. We can do a few simple things to help, but we just don't want to.

Our government should be paying more attention to organizations like the WWF (World Wildlife Fund). These numbers are astonishing and I am not proud of a country that doesn't respect mother nature . . .

We are in the middle of another mass extinction event and this one is being caused by us. There is no excuse for being so careless with what we inherited.
-
Sigh... discouraging -- but not surprising, knowing us...
-
Just imagine what will increase due to our destruction: disease, death, costs, greed, hate, et cetera. We messed up the balance, long ago, and we have very little motivation to make Earth healthier for our descendants.
Something catastrophic this way comes. -
it's kind of amazing how far ahead we (the US) are, what with all our scientific advances and all..

Habitat preservation is the key to stopping this rate of extinction & crimes against nature. If the animals can't speak up, then we must be their voices & look at the impact & far reaching consequences of our so-called progress & development. We shouldn't consider ourselves immune from de-evolution, but just waiting in line for our time to come now.
The last 8 years have resulted in the wholesale destruction of carefully protected areas-many for decades-now being sold to the highest bidder for quick profits at the expense of losing our nation’s natural treasures possibly forever. The disgusting numbers of extinction are the direct result of the current administration's rape & pillage of public lands that belong to everyone, including future generations.-
