A US mother is filing a court case against Universal after a video of her child dancing to a song by Prince was removed from YouTube. Universal issued a complaint and request to take down the 30-second clip due to infringement of copyright, but the mother argues that "Universal should not be using legal threats to try to prevent people from sharing home videos of their kids with family and friends." This may prove to be a test-case for the fair use of music on the internet for home videos and similar media.
I thought 30 seconds was an allowed limit for clips, or maybe just in the UK? Either way this reeks of petty-mindedness from the big corporations to me..
