awww not Sophia! she did live for quite a while though, I hope I get to grow that old
-
I wonder what she would want said about her death?
-
Ever watch a memoriam on one of those award shows and see a bunch of people you thought were already dead?
-
Exactly, but still sad. It IS a bummer when you have to re-memorialize someone you thought had been dead for years.

Let us not forget her amazing turn as the title character "Mom" in the amazing, "Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot!"
You will be missed.-

As a young man, I've never really watched "Golden Girls" but I know the show brought my mother and grandma hours of entertainment. She will be missed.

Picture it, Los Angeles, 2008, the world lost one of the great entertainers. Rest in peace, Sophia...

I cried when I heard this.
Then some friends and I had a moment of silence for her and we played "thank you for being a friend". A bit lame, but it feels like an old friend has died rather than some actress that I didn't personally know- I grew up watching her, you know? -
This is so sad! Just today i was thinking about her and how funny she was. The last time i even saw that show I was 12.

Very sad but she lived a long and fulfilling life--and inspired many to to look towards old age with a sense of humor.
-
Aww man she was a funny actress.
-
It really does feel like an old friend died. I watch the Golden girls every morning from 9 - 10 on Lifetime
