Many professors are upset about this tool. It seems like the internet is simply aiding cheaters to do what they do best.

As we rely more and more on tests instead of teachers, this is inevitable. Frankly, i just see it as a class thing. Another advantage for the "haves".

This is "New"?
Back in the late 1970's & 1980's sharing professor's old tests was an institution.
What's not ethical about it?
It's not like stealing the exam it's giving students an idea of what kinds of questions the prof has asked in the past.
You still have to know the material...
If this were cheating studying would be cheating too.-

College students have become consumers of education; they buy a diploma rather than earn an education. Meanwhile, professors are forced to get published and bring funding to the university or never attain tenure. Students demand that professors be predictable, hospitable, and malleable to ensure their goods grades. Professors are too busy doing research to write original exams or even to adequately grade papers. This favors the consumer-student who merely wants to "get by" and thus creates a market for this sort of website. One should not be surprised that such a site exists; sites exist for bashing professors! If we actually valued education in this country we would realize that this website is a result of a greater problem. When did we decide that everyone should go to college?

i don't even believe in papers or written exams . ideally , a student should be questioned by his/her professors for an hour in a round table kind of arrangement , and be expected to demonstrate a well rounded knowledge of their subject , rather than getting by on the installment plan by taking exams / tests at intervals or cramming for a final . writing papers is not real dialogue , nor is taking exams .
it's not practical or realistic of course , but it's the way "education" should be , and used to be back in the day .
i'd rather someone actually know their subject , and be able to discuss it intelligently than write / produce a perfectly composed paper . -
Actually, this is called getting a Masters degree I believe.
If you go for your PhD you have to "Defend" it.
Same difference.-
