Deerhoof releases new single for free... as sheet music?!?!

Indie sensations, Deerhoof, have gone the way of many artists by releasing their music to the masses at no charge. But instead of releasing their music via mp3, the band is using cutting edge 16th century technology, sheet music.

The band passed out the sheet music at a show last week in Brooklyn. They hope their fans can create remixes and videos from it.

  • i like Deerhoof. I wouldn't like them giving me sheet music though. i'd want real music. I'd just whack it on eBay.

  • I'm not familiar with Deerhoof. It's a nice project for musicians but, did they only do this to get more indie points? Who knows. Looking forward to what fans come up with.

  • This is great - the number sites that've been shut down due to them containing *interpretations* of artists' music in the form of sheet music and tabs - it's about time the musician fans got something.
