Laura D. Kirkland, 26, faces charges of statutory sodomy and rape for allegedly having sex with a young boy she was babysitting.
Court documents say Laura Kirkland of Springfield has been charged with two counts of first degree statutory sodomy for having deviate sexual contact with someone younger than the age of 14.
The probable cause statement said Kirkland, 25, admitted to sexual contact, including performing oral sex on the child and having sexual intercourse with the child.
According to a probable cause statement, an 11-year-old boy said this week in an interview with Child Advocacy investigators that his ex-baby sitter Laura D. Kirkland made him touch her.
The child also said his baby sitter performed oral sex on him and described having intercourse with her. He said the incidents happened at her house from the time was 8 (sic) until he was 10 years old, and that he was scared when she did these things.

How is the kid lying? Y would he lie about this? And that woman doesnt deserve jail, she deserves execution

Execution, that's a little harsh. Yes, what she is reported to have done is heinous but to kill her for it? Killing is far too easy a solution and doesn't truly punish anyone. Imprisonment on the other hand, can give someone a very long time to think about how stupid they were and maybe, just maybe, be able to truly ask for forgiveness from the person they wronged.

I'm glad female sex offenders are finally garnering attention and disgust that they so deserve. I'm a woman, but usually stories like these tend to highlight male offenders. That said, regardless of gender, this has to be some of the worst type of abuse. That poor traumatized child. I have a 9 year old cousin and I can't even fathom something like this happening to him. I can't even think of another word to use to describe this woman. Absolutely appalling.

And the story behind the story? It's highly likely she herself was a victim of sexual abuse as a kid. She is sick, she needs treatment, along with incarceration. I hope the boy is able to recover.

the same thing happened to me by an aunt/babysitter...and i grew up fine... you people are being very devisive and overreacting on a gut level
yes it was wrong but execution or ill will toward her...grow up and think it through
abusers are only acting out what they were taught so somewhere she has pain from the past, that she's acting out.
... but i bet uncle chester or whoever is at fault, and did her wrong 18 years ago didnt get executed, in fact probably never got punished
we need to break the cycle by being informed and informing our youth and not hiding them from life and what is out there...
sheltering them so they dont know about the dangers of people, is far from the answer either -
Life in prison at least if you lived through this then find help don't go on doing this to other inocent child how is not his fault for what happend to you. I know this and it hurt when you lived it in your own flesh. STUPID WHORE
