Michael Moore in "Drugging of our Children": Wake up America!!!

Oh no. I can't watch a video that's going to blame drugs for the Columbine Incident.

I have a WHOLE TWO books about serial killers and not a single word is uttered about drug use as a reason they decided to rape their daughters, mothers, cut off men's/boy's penises, decapitate people...maybe I'll change my mind in a few minutes, but anyone who is going to take the easy way out and blame drugs for actions that were clearly thought and planned out without blacking out (like the first boy) is not smart enough to tell me what's wrong.

Michael More is like Gauise Baltar of Battlestar Galactica. He make make valid points but his idea isn't to help but to hinder what's already in place. It's like masturbating his ego or something to create videos like this.

I am under no disillusionment that kids are over drugged. I'm also not under any misguided thinking that the drugs are the soul problem, that if you get rid of the drugs you'll stop the crazy children.

Just give them pot, apparently that cures everything from cancer to stupid.

So many people like you want a solution for everything..thats why they can sell the drugs in the first place...so ignorant.

Also I don't go for "THIS IS ALL BAD" when that's not truly the case. Because if I were to think like you then I'd stay away from someone that was good looking and spoke well because of their chances of being a serial killer are rather high.

You have to assess the situation and act accordingly.

Just because a drug is bad for one person doesn't mean in it's totality that it's bad. The boy at the beginning should have stated what problems he was having. Fearing what it meant is not an excuse for what he ignored.

The blame, in that instance, is shared. One cannot claim ignorance as a saving grace if one did so willingly as in wanting to be ignorant instead of wanting to find out. He bares so of the responsibility here and I would feel more sympathetic if he actually, as well as his father, accepted that instead of blaming a drug whole heartedly. It's like blaming alcohol.

Do you accept an alcoholic when he states that (after killing a whole family in an accident) that it wasn't his fault it was the fault of the drink?

You so wouldn't, but you're so buying that same mentality now.

Again you need to read what I'm stating and not what you want me to state so you can feel justified in your emotional lashings you are sharing.

There is a problem and always has been a problem, but this video isn't helping or providing answers other than using an index finger to point and blame everyone for every problem while not offering a single solution.

There are plenty of alternatives to treating these problems...the news won't tell you them...be resourceful and you will find them as I have...i don't have time to educate people who won't help themselves becasue they are afraid of hearing the other side.
Nutrition is discussed in detail here in the video..I know that has worked for many I know..and exercise..lifestyle changes and eliminating chemicals..lots of ways that don't enrich drug companies.

Look at the healthy intelligent people flooding places like Whole Foods Markets who are treating these problems with Supplements and Herbs, massage, acupuncture ..not all work all the time..sometime it is a combination of many.

They are not all effective but most are. There are more and more resources for double blind placebo controlled studies..such as the ones for Omega 3 benefiting depression as well as SSRI's without harmful or deadly side effects.

Solve Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Clinical Depression (not that simple stuff of oh I feel sad today), Psychotic person---

You're stating if these people altered what they ate they wouldn't have these problems?

And the depression you're talking about is the easy kind, that's why there's so much depression because it's simply solved, it's not the deep dark crevasse of real depression that's like a black hole of total and unrelenting self deprivation that no one understands unless they've been there.

I take a special medication that is all natural. I tried several that the medical world had to offer and the side-effects were too much to bare. So you can jump off the soap box on that.

I should be the one quitting you because between the both of us I'm the one that gets what you're stating and you are doing a really good job of claiming ignorance with mine.

I'm going to finish the video in a moment and make more comments, because I will say what I want to say when I want to say it and how, no matter if you feel the need to make blanket statements about sand and heads like Church and state...

...phrases like those should be burnt because people use them without even thinking or understanding what they are saying..and misusing them like drugs.

Very important for you to know that I am not telling you I believe that all severely ill people can be cured in any particular way. I am not a doctor...just speaking about my experiences as a human being, a daughter and a mother.


This is not me saying this or Michael Moore (who happened to say one or two things on the video) these are good solid families and Harvard educated doctors.

I am very very sad to say that not all doctors in our country are good. Many are too tightly affiliated with the drug industry. I have had the displeasure of dealing with many. My doctor is now an Integrative MD from Harvard who has additional training in Alternative Treatment and Prevention.

YOU have to be the person who researches things as I had to. I personally find Dr Andrew Weil to be an excellent choice for most of my information. I believe 95% of what he recommends on his web...not everything...I don't like Homeopathic medicine which I believe is also way oversold and is only water...Dr Weil I think occasionally recommends it because some people use it for placebo so it helps them without side effects...so no harm to them.

Try to look for information that has double blind placebo controlled studies..helps if it is from leading medical schools but not always....lots of fake stuff out there.

You need to be smarter than them.

Pharmaceutical companies and the FDA can not be trusted. Period.

There are healthy alternatives to these poisonous drugs that have not been sufficiently tested over a long enough time period to ascertain their dangerous side effects.

Our hearts go out to the mother of Sarina Angel who daughter is a victim of the immoral pharmaceutical companies and the lazy doctors who prescribe these poisons without doing their own research about the devastating potential side effects of the drugs they push on unsuspecting trusting patients.

It is unfortunate that this thread is being hijacked by the negativity of the poster who floods many threads on current with hateful rants.

Hopefully people will ignore those posts and contribute more informative and substantive comments that will inspire futher research and resistance to the criminal profit-motivated pharmaceuticals and expose the damage their dangerous drugs do to people.

There are a couple of good reasons why Americans are quickly becoming the stupidest people on the planet, and drugs and poor nutrition are 2 of those reasons.

I spent most of my professional career working with children and adolescents with extremely severe disturbances, ranging from immobilizing depression, to bi-polar disorders, to psychosis (and some forms of autism).

Most entered the group care facility on medication, but upon admission they were given a complete psychiatric assessment that included trying to determine whether their medication regimen was the most appropriate, or whether there was a better alternative.

Medication was always combined with 2, 3 and even 4X week formal psychotherapy. One of main our goals was always to reduce and, if at all possible, discontinue the use of medication. And quite often we were successful in being able to do that.

Proper nutrition over drugs. What a concept.

You know why this video annoys me? Because it's stating everything that I already know and I believe it to be so apparent that anyone who doesn't know that is stupid.

My mother would not, under any circumstances, allow a teacher to tell her what her child had...tooth and nail she would fight.

And that's the problem here. Parents just give in as if they don't know their child well enough.

All this talk about what families need to do together is duh also. That's why America is failing. It has nothing to do with the drugs because if the families were strong most of the problems would just go away.

And because the strength is more in the individual and not the family failure like this is bound to happen and continue to happen until America is no more.

This Documentary "The Drugging of our Children" is several years old was directed by Gary Null NOT Michael Moore. I also find it to be a complete waste of time to read any comment the "J_Jammer" leaves..

An alcoholic makes that choice on his own. He knows the consequences and chooses them anyway.
Kids have to do what they are told. And parents have to do what the "experts" tell them to or suffer the consequences. Your children can be taken from you if you dont.
Adults that go to the doc for a problem, such as not being able to sleep, trust that their doc is giving them something that will help the problem. I researched the side effects of Xanax and didnt see the ones that hurt people until I got all the way to the 4th or 5th page on the web site in the "rare" side effects. They dont put those on the side of the bottle or the literature the pharmacy gives you.
Did you know that once a study is done on a drug and it is released to the public, the effects it has on people are not tracked? So if it causes 1 out of 10 people to fly into a rage, no one would know? Do you think that if you knew that you might make a different decision about taking it? Or at least be aware of it? How many people do you think know that if you take Xanax you could loose your mind and go into an unstoppable rage? Does your doc inform you of things like that when he prescribes it?

the pharmaceutical companies that make the drugs have absolutely no interest in actually helping the people they're intended for and they don't give a fuck about the people at all. all they care about is lining their pockets. the FDA has completely failed us and they , like many other gov't agencies, are on the take.

let's all hold hands and go to Canada to buy some drugs.

This deserves a place on television. People need to know about the harmful effects of these drugs. The drugs should be banned!

Some people do need medication to function. When they are on medication, they need to be closely monitored by a health care trained in that specific field. That said, what in the name of common sense are these parents, teachers, and doctors thinking. To hear their side, there is no problem that a child has that cannot be solved with medication. I'm not even going to talk about adults, because that isn't the focus. We have become a country of over-medicated zombies. And for the last ten years or so, we have brought our children into the mix. When we are taking so many medications that excess polutes the water supply and trace amounts are found in wild game that might be a little overboard.The next time someone wants to talk about the terrible drug problem in this country, ask them which one. I am prescribed an antidepressant and I find that it does help me quite a bit. I have tried many different mood meds and I can tell you that many didn't help at all or frankly made my symptoms worse. However, depression is a very real illness and if you educate yourself in the area you will see that ALL television advertisements for prescription drugs in the U.S. do list (verbally or written) the most common side effects of these drugs. Also, at the end of the advertisement they state "If thoughts of suicide occur...contact your doctor immediately"
I do not believe every human being is responsible enough to use prescription drugs, but not every human being is responsible enough to use a toaster either...
Marijuana seems like a great alternative to many prescription medications, but such a wonderful super drug would wipe pfizer off the map... and well they can't let that happen... bad words.

This topic is extremely important to me, as my high school sweetheart had the same thing happen to him. I don't need to talk about his pain or the pain of those of us who lost him... Something must be done and I thank all of you who care to help.

i am sorry to hear these stories...i was told at age 14 that i needed prosac and i refused to take it. my parents recently forced me to take medication which caused me to gain about 40 pounds in a months time...I was actually eating less food and gaining weight rapidly from these medications... I did not like taking them but my family threatened me if i did not take them

it is very frightening how powerful the pharmaceutical companies are. People should stop trusting in medications for everything/ diet and exercise are a much better alternative to most health conditions

Why use SSRI when you can have Xanax or Valium to calm your nerves. They come from Opium. That is much healthier than some molecular analogue.

The guy didn't even go to college. He's not even qualified to critique literature, yet he's all of a sudden the expert on pediatric psychopharmacology? He and Tom Cruise need to calm down and take a Valium.

Those companies are doing what any other drug pusher does... Sells harmful drugs that get people high in one way or another and going on to pawn it off as "help" all with the full backing of the US Gov.

Anything to keep you in your cubicle, working your life away... Gotta have that SUV and jetski etc etc etc etc...
