Senator Barack Obama, in his world tour, spent less than an hour in Palestine compared to 32 hours in Israel. Very few people know the facts on the ground in Palestine as well as Mustafa Barghouti. Barghouti, born in Jerusalem and a resident of Ramallah, is a member of Parliament and the leader of the Palestinian National Initiative, a democratic, reformist alternative to the Palestinian Authority and Hamas. The Real News spoke to Mustafa Barghouti in Washington about Obama's visit to Israel and Ramallah, and the facts on the ground in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Mustafa Barghouti was born in Jerusalem, 1954. He is a leader of the Palestinian National Initiative, founded in 2002 and a member of Palestinian Legislative Council, former Minister of Information, unity government, March-June 2007.

It depends on the crowd, who he is talking to. If they are pro Israel, so is he. If they support the Palistinians, so does he. Who ever he happens to me talking to at the moment.

I love Mustafa Barghouti. More people need to listen to what he has to say about the conflict.
AIPAC is one of the biggest lobbing organizations in the United States and they hold tremendous power within the U.S government. Its disheartening to the average voter that a politician who seems so promising and talks about changing would ignore a wall that affects some many lives in both Israel and Palestine - 3 years ago
