Prince William set to join SAS

That's right, he's gonna be one of them SAS soldiers and will also spend time with the SBS (Special Boat Squadron) as well as the elite Special Reconnaissance Regiment.

Kind of like his previous training, the second in line to the throne will spend up to six weeks with the Special Services as part of his multi-military training for when he's King, he'll be in charge of all of Britain's Armed Forces.

You think the Prince's inevitable media coverage will have an effect on his, and his fellow soldiers' work?

    • That's really cool: I'd feel better about having a King if he'd been in the SAS, they're the toughest bastards in the world.

    • The media have been pretty well-behaved when it comes to dealing with Prince William and Harry's involvement in the army, so I doubt this is going to change. You have to respect William for trying to do something with his life before he becomes king.

      I completely agree Jana, I for one certainly wouldn't want a King whose been wrapped in cotton wool, a true leader should have experience. I think Wills and Harry do a great job at being royal enough, but still showing they are 'real people' just like the rest of us.
