These proposals are most likely to affect low-income or uninsured women. Because the Bush Administration always keeps it classy.

A health provider has the right to refuse any care that isnt deemed an immediate danger. This terminology wont affect too much. Most people in the clinincs wont refuse someone birth control. Im sure there is more than one pharmacy in every town. Just go to another pharmacy.

Another reason to keep the federal government out of health care.

A Democratic administration will reverse this perversion of traditional definition. This is just like the way these Fascist leaders of ours redefined the word 'torture'. If it is classified so this administration does not get to implement its conservative ideology, then they just go ahead and reclassify!!
-
wha the hell is that about yea lets not give out any birthcontrol an see how many abortions come from that! its called PREVENTION!
-
This has been posted like three times now, but what the hell?
This is the ultimate agenda of right wing christian groups.
They don't care about abortion, abortion is just the first step.
They want to ban ALL contraceptives and all forms of "perverse" sexual practice, like it was in the 20's.
They are anti-woman's rights and anti-sexuality. That is why this is happening. This is just the beginning.
Luckily, the clown will be out of office soon and someone will be appointed to the HHS that doesn't have shit for brains and will reverse this.

If birth control is a now a form of abortion in the US, then male masturbation should also be considered a form of abortion.
-
OMG - this is plain stupidity. I hope this doesn't go through, because it's going to cause a lot of problems for us.
-
Woohoo! Just what the world needs, more of the low-end breeding.
Fine get rid of birth control and abortion...as long as you mandate sterilization instead.
Christ there are too many people being brought into the world in the worst circumstances.

oh that's great. Because the day after is when you're celebrating the little bundle of joy that was forced into you. And Contraception??? Oh what will the pharmaceutical companies do now, when their best friends, their old buddies the Bush Administration, is killing one of their best industries. Aside from Male enhancement and whatnot. Now that I think about, isn't it weird, that they have no problem saying yes to the man, and no to us?
Lovely world we live in, eh?-

You know what? BUSH CAN GO FORNICATE HIMSELF WITH A WOODEN SPOON! The next thing he'll be saying is, "You can only have sex to have children and keep the faith preserved." Last time I checked, American law must agree with the constitution, not with personal belief.

Infuckinsanity!!! I'm sorry... but our government has no "RIGHT" to do this!
If a woman does not want to get pregnant or a couple cannot afford to have a child they should have the right.
Stupid fucking assholes... stop telling us what to do and get the fuck out of our private lives!!!

Soon, just talking about abortion is going to be considered abortion.
-
Send emails to your representatives in Congress to stand against this. Register to vote and vote! We have to get Obama elected president and also vote in a democratic House and Senate and appoint Supreme Court Justices or we are heading back to Medieval times.

PREGNANT |ˈprɛgnənt|
adjective
1 (of a woman or female animal) having a child or young developing in the uterus : a pregnant woman | she was heavily pregnant with her second child.
• having been in such a condition for a specified time : she was six months pregnant.
2 full of meaning; significant or suggestive : a pregnant pause | a development pregnant with implications.
DERIVATIVES
pregnantly |ˈprɛgnəntli| adverb
ORIGIN late Middle English : from Latin praegnant-, probably from prae ‘before’ + the base of gnasci ‘be born.’ABORTION |əˈbɔːʃ(ə)n|
noun
1 the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy.
• the expulsion of a fetus from the uterus by natural causes before it is able to survive independently.
• Biology the arrest of the development of an organ, typically a seed or fruit.
2 an object or undertaking regarded by the speaker as unpleasant or badly made or carried out.
ORIGIN mid 16th cent.: from Latin abortio(n-), from aboriri ‘miscarry’ (see abort ).I guess when women buy pregnancy tests and pee on them..they dont really say.."You are pregnant" they should say "Run to the farmacy before these "cells" become a fetus" cause that's morally accepted as not being still a human life form..a living organism.Life as started either you like it or not..stoping it in any form from developing is killing it. Other wise all science had to be revised..Unless martians have legs and eyes..we will not consider any other life form as being Proof that there is Life on Mars..you people make me sick with so much stupidity! I have nothing against abortion but STOP SAYING YOU ARE NOT KILLING HUMAN BEINGS! Next day pill has the same effect as going to a clinic..it is just applied on a different stage of evolution.

There was just a segment on infoMania about birth control. I think the whole thing's stupid. Laws are not about personal beliefs. Choices should be choices, not limited by the law. There's a difference between prevention and abortion. Besides, reducing birth control availability won't stop people from having sex; it just means they won't be having safe sex. Teen lovers who can't get birth control, and maybe condoms, have sex anyways, and then they have a kid. Now what are they going to do?

This law Bush is claiming will never happen. What he is talking about not only affects the nation but the states as well meaning this proposal would have to become a federal law. That is where good old Checks and Balances kicks in. In order for a law to become law, Congress must pass it by both the house and the senate. Congress would not pass this. Bush only has three months left. He is gone. Just ignore his desperate attempts at leadership and control because it is nothing but empty rhetoric.

To frimer:
This would not just affect young responsible women who are not ready to take care of a child but it would also affect every monogamous couple who already have children and do not wish to have anymore. Should they suffer because of this? Should they have to have 20 kids when they can barely take care of the three or four they already have? Or how about the woman who's body is unable to carry a child and may in fact kill her if she does attempt to carry a child? Is she not allowed to have healthy relationship that involves intercourse simply because her body can not handle pregnancy?
Plus this article is about contraceptives being categorized as abortion. These are devices that keep cells from meeting. Condoms keep sperm from entering the vagina and the pill keeps a woman from ovulating. This is NOT killing. If it is so bad that the sperm does not meet the egg than we just need to off ourselves right now. All woman who can not conceive, all men would have to go because of that waste of sperm when they have a wet dream or masturbate even when they have sex because when a healthy man ejaculates he releases 20 million sperm, also all menopausal women would have to die as well since they are no longer able to bare life, fuck, even the kiddies would have to go because we know they are not making babies.
Personally I would never get an abortion. I am pregnant right now and I feel that I do have a life in me and I could never get rid of that. But no matter how I feel or how anyone else feels does not mean I am right. I could NEVER take that right away from another woman. Yes maybe it is killing a life but I rather have a life die than to have a child born to someone that does not love it, that resents it, that hates it, that will abuse it. What child or anybody at that matter deserves that? If you believe that abortion is wrong because of your faith (which I myself have grown up in) then why is death so horrible? At least that fetus is in heaven and not on this fucking shithole hole that we call Earth. Look at this world. Really look at it. Look at the horrors that are committed every day of every second of our lives. If someone chooses to not bring a child in this world that is okay because that is one less life that has to suffer in this life and in this world.

I dont think this is realy going to affect peoples ability to get birth control, but why would anybody try and stop a woman from being able to use birth control? Are they trying to overpopulate the world with republicans or just stop people from having sex? I'd like to point out that married couples have sex too, and most American families have two or three kids, one would conclude that Everyones been using birth control, not just young people, who btw, have a right to their own bodies and safe sex.

Ok these proposals are going way too far, they are ludicrous.
People who dispense the treatments or medications are not being responsible, they are being irresponsible, selfish, and self appointed moral crusaders. This kind of thing cannot be allowed to go forward, next you'll have people refusing to offer treatment to AIDS patients because they disagree with their "gay" life style, or refusing to give treatments to Mormons because they believe them to be a cult, or withhold medication to a Latin American person because they might be an illegal alien.
I wish there was a virus that would only target selfish, cruel, and evil people and kill them, that would be heaven to me.
-
For all of those dismissive of the serious consequences of this, let me ask you if you think a rape victim should be denied emergency contraception?
