IOC putting 'Olympics highlights' on YouTube

Image...
The IOC has announced that it will be putting highlight clips of the games on YouTube in countries where broadcasters have no exclusive rights to the footage. This means that the clips will be 'geoblocked' so that only footage not covered by any of that country's main TV stations can be seen by people in that country. Sadly, we in the UK won't see any of this as the BBC has complete exclusive rights to the games. Let's hope they're generous with the iPlayer...

Geo blocking on the internet is insane.

You can get round it so why do the bother, just creats hassle.

I use this to watch iplayer the nod time.
search by country for the country you need.

firefox: click tools, options, advanced, network tab, Configure how firefox connects to the internet, Manual Proxy Configuration...
If that is already clicked, take a note of the numbers and where they go. then replace them with one from the list.
the number after the colon goes in the port section.

    click ok

Now try open a webpage. If it doesnt work, try another proxy.

If none work, put back in original numbers you took down or click no proxy/auto detect depending what was originally there.

    Internet explorer:
Click: tools, internet options, connections Lan settings, proxy server (tick box) put in an IP address from the list. don't forget port is the numbers after the colon.
    click ok

    try a webpage.

If it works, feel free to make racist comments on youtube, like everyone else!
