US soldiers like Corey Glass and Rodney Watson, who have gone AWOL from the Iraq War, are now facing deportation from Canada to the US. They are waiting for the government there to decide their fate.

yes, thank you canada. its too bad that conscientious people who dont want to murder have to flee their own country and familes. i wonder what obama has to say about these expatriots.

i would not want to die or be maimed for immoral reasons. Let bush and cheny along with their friends fight bush sr.'s failed war. not our mothers and fathers sons and daughters.

If you haven't seen it already, watch the movie "Stop Loss". The reason that there is no more protest about this unjust war is that there is no draft. They (big oil) have also taken our minds off of this issue by artificially inflating the price of oil. Focus and vote.

I would object to being expected to fight in a war to maintain oil supplies to keep corporate profits high.

It seems to me that the people who are calling anyone who refuses to fight under those conditions cowardly or unpatriotic are themselves cowardly and unpatriotic. Why don't YOU go fight to keep corporate profits flowing.

This war is all about oil.

On behalf of Canadians everywhere, I would like to say, "You're welcome, America...B.F.F."

HA! Good for Canada! These guys VOLUNTEERED to fight, no one was forcing them to do anything they didn't want to. When you sign up for the military, what do you think your job is?

Once they are deported back to the US, we should kick them out too!

i wish them the best of luck when they do get back in the US. I'm sorry but i can not be upset that these men went AWOL. after seeing so much death due to war , I would want to run too.so many make the mistake of going in the military and they just don't realize what they are getting into.. .. Peace & love to all

The soldiers swore to defend their country however necessary when they signed up. They shouldn't have joined if they weren't ready to perform tasks that they disagreed with.

I believe everyone is responsible for protecting thier own home and no one should be forced to fight to protect someone else. A person should have the right to protect and serve by attraction.

Although they did decide to join the military, i doubt that all of them did so willingly.

If "I was just following orders" is no excuse, that undermines the entire military power structure...although that is exactly the reason I would have a problem joining the military.

Following a much less intelligent or noble human being's orders to do wrong straight to your death is a pretty difficult prospect to accept no matter how much you need the money.

The thing about this is the people were not drafted, they enlisted knowing full well they might get shipped somewhere dangerous. Also I heard that you can say your against taking someones life and you would not have to fight. You might still be out in the field however doing other stuff. But really they signed up for it and knew what they were getting into.

also how is the war illegal at all like the people in the video says?

I could understand if people were being drafted, but since these people willingly signed up, then they should not be allowed to just go to Canada and say "I object". Did they really believe that they were joining the military to "see the world"?

Wait.. these people signed up for the military...

    Now lets think about that...

You willfully signed up for the military and then run away..

There's a word for that Coward.

And for the guy citing Nuremberg...

Yes, you don't have to follow orders, IF.. Now this is important because I don't think you quite grasp this.. You don't have to follow orders, IF and only IF they violate international law.

Sounds like these guys deserve to be prosecuted
