Arnold Confused, New 'Terminator' Does Not Compute

Image...
Who is the hero? Who is the villian? Where is the Governator?

It sounds like they showed him some rough footage, possibly a setpiece or two. I refuse to believe that McG's take on the franchise is too highbrow for Arnold, in fact I'm a little repulsed that I used "McG" and "highbrow" in the same sentence.

Apparently they didn't show him enough for him to get the picture.

I can understand since the overall plot of the other 3 movies is a closed loop then any other is going to have to be convoluted enough to fit inside that loop so it's not always clear how it's going to fit in.

I did love one of the comments on Defamer from someone called "Wrapitup" that made the whole article worthwhile.

"When Jim Cameron made the First Terminator Film, he said "I want to make an awesome cult hit" and He created it and then He rested. And then He made Terminator 2: Judgment Day in the image of all that was High Cinematic Entertainment. And verily, a great light shone upon the world. For behold! it was wonderful to watch.

And then Jonathan Mostow smote the franchise with great force for a vexing shit came from his asscheeks named Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. And the people gnashed their teeth.

Then McG, the worshipper of the False God Ba'al and Living Embodiment of The Unholy opened his asscheeks even wider and therein Satan beckoned. And Satan fell out of McG's ass and proceeded to destroy all that was left of the Terminator franchise.

And the people wept. And there was much rending of garments and mourning. And the Anointed One, Jim Cameron, forsook his people. "

They already totally walked away from the logic of the series with the introduction of the Sarah Connor Chronicles. So now who knows what will happen in the next movie. Maybe the Terminator will run for elected office... nah, that's CRAZY! Who would go for that?

Put all 4 of them in the movie Ahnold, Robert Patrick, Kristanna Loken and Summer Glau then let them run amuck that would be a ratings bonanza!

For not having a "feel" for the movie, he certainly had enough to say about how much he didn't understand.
