// So what’s the deal with this Leaderboard I keep hearing about? //
The VC2 Leaderboard features all Viewer Created Content (VC2) uploads to Current.com. You, the Current community, vote on these videos and move them up or down the Leaderboard based on popularity. Each week, a Leaderboard champion will be selected on Thursday, at 5 pm PST.
The video at #1 when the countdown hits 0:0:0 is featured on Current.com. Leaderboard winners will be offered a minimum of $1,000 for the purchase of the video, and we'll consider it for air on Current TV.
To watch and vote, head over to Viewer Uploads: http://current.com/uploads
Want more details? Check out our FAQ: http://current.com/s/faq.htm#what_is_the_vc2_leaderboard
// You mentioned a new upload tool… //
We're also launching a brand-new advanced upload tool. Our new uploader features a streamlined design, and will upload videos up to 60 minutes in length. Just like before, you’ll need to use Safari if you’re a Mac user, or Firefox or Internet Explorer on a PC.
You'll also be prompted to download a Flix plug-in the first time you upload. If you have any problems, please let us know by emailing us at support [at] current [dot] com.

This is excellent news. Thank you, Current people.

Is it gonna come complete with all the whining and complaining too? I remember all the drama that came with that whole leader board thing. Competition getting voted down, friends who have their one time visitors greenlighting them to kingdom come and red lighting others no matter how good the videos were. It was a popularity contest and not to mention all the begging, to 'please come check out my stupid video about nothing!' ..............Who me? I'm not complaining.

Great--countme in!

Great news! I've been waiting for this, and it will motivate me to return to visiting current.TV more often.
It's what I loved when I first found out about the site, having a chance to watch viewer content--all in one place I might add without having to filter through other types of content. As well as the sense of a community of producers, watching each other's work and having the chance to give kudos when its deserved. And last but not least, the opportunity to get your work seen by more viewers. Thanks for listening Current.TV and responding by bringing the leaderboard back! You've got me back!

"Leaderboard winners will be offered a minimum of $1,000 for the purchase of the video, and we'll consider it for air on Current TV."
Ok, so does this mean the winner gets $1000 regardless of whether or not you air the winning story, or is the $1000 payment hinged on the story being approved for air-play?
Its sort of strange that the on-air department can still knock a story off the air even if the viewers overwhelmingly vote for it, this is kind of weird for a station that is claiming to be doing things differently than everyone else - y'know, revolutionizing the media and all that good stuff.
Do staff votes count in the weekly leaderboard VC2 story choices?
I am glad to see the leaderboard back, but it seems to be lacking - looks like all you added was a timer to the existing page, and offer a $1000 prize that may or may not be paid to a weekly winner whose story may or may not air.
2 steps forward, 1 step back.

Thank you for bringing this back!
I know my confidence has been low lately and thats because this part of Current was very important to me.
Now I can finally finish the pod I was making when it went away!
Quick question. Is this $1000 for the winner something temporary as a promotion or is it planned to be the standard?
