Following rumors that actress Mary-Kate Olsen was refusing to speak with federal prosecutors about her connection to the criminal drug case linked to the death of Heath Ledger, the criminal inquiry has been dropped. Heath Ledger's death has been attributed to a toxic mixture including illegally obtained painkillers.

That's good to hear. I don't think anything would have been gained by pursuing the criminal case... it was a horrible accident. No need to make it harder for anyone.

Agreed in full. It seems that his last, and certainly legendary performance has drawn attention from all circles of American life: even the legal sect, which has nothing to do with batman.

"Mary-Kate Olsen refuses to speak to federal prosecutors.." Is this permissible now in the age of republican corruption. First white house aides, then former admistration people, and now even celebrities. I guess the next time some cop wants to ask me some questions I can just "refuse" to go along to the station with him.

I don't think they were illegal...they were just given to him by doctors who were unaware of the meds that other doctors were giving him. which is a shame that poor mr. ledger didn't metion what he was already on to all of them...

It is the doctors responsability to cross reference a patients current medical record. Especially when dealing with addictive substances. Unfortunately our legal system doesnt even require a pediatrician to do so with infants, due mostly in part to false malpractice suits. Its a shame when the doctor has more protection than the patient, especially when the doctor is supposedly more educated.
