Gemma McCoyd studied in the US graduating with a first-class masters degree in maths, but snubbed a chance to become an actuary at a top London firm.
Instead, the 24-year-old has enrolled on an advanced plastering course.
"If I was an actuary I could earn £100,000 a year. Instead I earn less than £6,000."

Do that for one year.... and be a plasterer in Costa Rica for the rest of your life.

Not the smartest move given the UK housing market is entering its biggest recession in decades. Ah, the mistakes of youth.

Exactly, do the 100k job for a while, while you can. Plastering would probably get boring quite quickly. I've never done it though...

Well Done!!! I went to uni with Actuarial Science students and they were made to work hard. Once they get their jobs they have no life. So lose you decide loads of money and no time to spend it or less money more time to enjoy life (in a contented way id imagine)
Keep it real.
