Rivera will wear the satin "suit of lights" when he takes part in the "Corrida Goyesca" bullfight in Ronda, Andalusia on September 6. The suit is made in Armani's hallmark shade of greyish beige embroidered with sequins, crystals and silver thread.
Rivera comes from a family of famous bullfighters; it was Pablo Picasso himself who designed the suit of lights costume for Cayetano's grandfather Antonio Ordonez for the same event around 50 years ago.

Now Armani is facing a frenzy from animal-rights activists in Italy. It was reported that the 100% Animalisti group plastered posters with angry slogans on the Emporio Armani megastore in Milan. Will this have any longterm negative impact on the Iconic Armani brand? Time will tell.

Don't get me wrong, spearing a bull for sport and spectacle is distasteful, but centuries old tradition shouldn't be entirely scrapped for bull sensitivities. Injecting Armani fashion into the mix is pretty cool. I doubt it will have a negative impact on the brand.
