A newly-published Apple patent discusses the comeback of streaming in the form of wireless to iPhone. The document details 'remote access of media items' from a remote device, increasing the virtual capacity of devices such as iPhones and iPods. When you want to play a song, your device would establish a connection with your home computer, either over WiFi or through the mobile network. The feature is not necessarily limited to music, and could be used to transmit 'audiobooks, TV shows, movies, photos, podcasts, and computer games'.
