In a police interview, one of the woman's two daughters, who was between five and nine years old during the time of the allegations, told a detective that her mother had her touch the boyfriend's penis and masturbate him. The girl said her mother's boyfriend was naked when this happened.
The girl also told police she was made to touch her mother by her mother, but the judge found that the girl in her testimony couldn't remember the incident, so there was no proof that it happened.
Ottawa police learned about the incidents when the boyfriend went to the hospital and told medical staff he had been involved in sexual activities with the young girl. Detectives then made arrangements to speak with the woman's daughters.
While the woman's trial evidence had numerous inconsistencies, she admitted the allegations involving herself, her daughter and her boyfriend, the judge ruled.
The woman was convicted of sexual assault and invitation to sexual touching for the incidents involving her, her daughter and her boyfriend.
She was acquitted of the sex allegations involving her and her daughter alone.
The judge conditionally stayed one sexual assault conviction for purpose of sentencing.

how does she not remember if touched her mother or not..... other than that WHOA thats disgusting.. and shouldnt that be made her gave him a handjob..
-
Thats just disturbing. What woman in her right mind takes advantage of her daughters this way? Its disgusting and they should both be dealt with in the worst way. What a sad excuse of a mother...

Such things happen more often than we might think. If not for the man telling someone. Most undocumented sexual abuse happens within family units. hildren sometimes make themselves forget things traumatizing. The subconious mind will do so to protect a person from shock...

I just don't find this to be newsworthy...well, maybe on the Fox Network, but not Current...

But it is news when a man does it??

No.

so, your saying: "who cares if children are molested"
I mean elaborate here, why do you think such things are not newsworthy??-

Please. Do not put words in my mouth. It is also unsafe to make assumptions.
"Such things" may be newsworthy, but not this particular presentation, in my opinion.
A picture of a child's hand reaching into a grown-ups hand, with the title "Mother made child masturbate boyfriend" is both misleading and tasteless. It is akin to networks like Fox News and others who pride themselves on "shock and awe" values.
It's an opionion. I am forcing no one to agree, or for that matter to disagree.
-
Thats why it was a question, now that you elaborated it makes more sense. Being critical of the picture is different than being so towards the article.

Besides the above argument, it is newsworthy! That's the most terrible thing I've ever heard! Why would any woman think of doing such a thing! And why would a man accept it!
Gosh that suddenly reminded me of Adam and Eve.
But the poor poor little girl! :( :( :( She'll never forget what she can remember of the ordeal
-
I disagree with the entire article, its presentation and picture. To me, it is not newsworthy. Period. Like I said earlier, perhaps for Fox or CNN, or better yet, Jerry Springer, but not Current quality...
It's ok to disagree folks, it's just an opinion.
Shock and awe...plain and simple.
-
maybe my personal experiance with the family courts and CPs refusing to do anything about a child molestor in my daughters family makes me want to see this on the news more so people understand that it is a major problem. But its ok, its only the children affected by it......

I think we can help people understand that this is a problem without sounding and looking like a Jerry Springer episode. There are plenty of reports in the news that concentrate on this subject, and the terrible scar that it leaves on people and families.
Using statements like: "it's ok, it's only the children affected by it" is only an extension of the shock and awe that this particular story intends to present. In fact, it is not only the children affected by it, but entire generations of families.
Like get some real news articles out there that focus on the subject, and begin debates that focus on the healing and solution to the issue - now there's an idea...
-
my statement was sarcastic/ toung in cheek. sorry if the subject is shocking but thats just the way it is. That is the way it will come across to you if thats all you see.

No need to apologize.
Substance is the key word here. Substance.
