At a news conference today Presidential Candidate Ralph Nader outlined his plan to empty prisons of non-violent drug offenders and fill them up with corporate criminals.

"Non-violent drug offenses are being over prosecuted and corporate crime is being under prosecuted," Nader said. "The Justice Department must begin to reverse course, crank up the crackdown on corporate crime, and end the cruel and inhumane war on non-violent drug possession." More ...

Really what doe's a non violent crime of using drugs or having them do to society, when corporate crime or governing crimes takes inocent people's lives or cost us fortunes too fix.

Prisons have been overcrowded for years while cannabis has aided in mental health for millions of people. Nadar's idea is not only new and rational its long overdue. But more political influence is needed to make the change. Fight for change, make a difference, urge your congress to make this a reality.
    Peace out

Its to bad this guy don't have a snowballs chance in hell to win.Legal pot has been fought over for years and years we even vote to legalize it and it passes but our dictators won't allow it.What we going to do with all the correction officers. Where I live the county sold out to the prisons five max and one for the insane criminals.

Vote for Nader, get your relatives and friends to vote for Nader get your neighbors to vote for Nader and get them to do the same as you.

Get Nader as VP if not prez.

During this economic decline, it makes less and less sense day by day, spending so much money on drug enforcement. Especially in the case of marijuana.

Pot should be legal, things like Meth and Heroin shouldn't, but I agree with Nader.

GO NADER, RUN FOR PRESIDENT AGAIN IN 2012!

Everything should be legal. It is up to a person if they want to kill themselves not the government.

Ralph is right on virtually all of his issues. He knows, however, he's not going to win and runs only to bring attention to those issues. If you vote for him, your vote has, unfortunately, been thrown away. And in an election as close as this is looking to be, throwing your vote away can be devastating. The 2000 election was so close it was decided by the Supreme Court. Had Ralph not run, Bush would not be president. We would not be in Iraq. And the U.S. would not be the global laughing stock that it is.

Drug users need treatment not prison. Alcohol and other drugs including cannabis are addictive. I agree they don't belong in prison yet I don't want them driving on the road or causing all the other issues that go along with drug use. More treatment programs need to be opened. Treatment costs less than 1/3 of what a year in prison costs yet these are often the first thing to go in a bad economy.

Definately. Thing is that a lot of crimes are commited by people on heroin or cocaine.

I actually admire and respect Ralph Nadar a lot. I think he does more good speaking out on these issues then he does running for Pres.

I know after working in the addictions field for 25 years that it is not a victim-less crime. Children always pay. A loaded parent is a parent not attending their child. A parent drinking or using while pregnant is passing on a lifelong struggle to their unborn child. Our children are raised in abject poverty and without emotional care when parents are loaded.

If I actually vote, I wouldn't vote for anyone else. Everyone here seems to support him, why not vote for him and stop being cynical, and if you are so cynical, don't vote at all because most politicians are irrelevant puppets!

so vote Nader! if anything he should be our VP next year.

That crazy bastard is right. I knew there was a reason I voted for him in 2000.

Nader runs so that he can get his messages out about corporate corruption! I wish that he would run on a VP ticket sometime, because he would make some positive contributions, but he also would have to compromise his ethics about the two-party system... and unless he gets brain-damaged, that will never happen!

Corporate corruption, thank God he's on it otherwise we would never hear about it. where is the Politician talking about the lazy ass victim Americans that sit around with their hand out, all the time whining about how bad they have it, it's so bad here that one of our very biggest problems is obesity from stuffing our faces continuously with thick crust pizza and sitting on our butts, look around it's like cow country. I guess running on that platform would not get you elected though..
