Money doesn't save you when you have cancer... Well. Paul is 83, and has managed to maintain an untainted image throughout his career... That speaks out loud in the world of filmmaking and Hollywood. He and his wife Joanne, of fifty years, have commanded a bit of respect... He will be missed!
-
And he and his wife have done much regarding environmental activism and bringing us more natural foods. I respect him immensely for that, and will miss him. Cancer is such a cheating GD disease. It takes so many good people from us. Love and peace to him and his family.

I had the pleasure of meeting Nell, his eldest daughter (Paul is a good friend of a friend of mine) and talk about their program of helping the world with their products. She was one of the leaders in helping with his efforts and I see, in the article, that Paul is giving her the company to run....she rightly deserves it and I wish her the best. I also send my blessings to her, Paul and their family for what they have gone thru and for their impending loss....Much love to all, and my prayers are with them all...peace and light and love...

Vanity Fair has an excellent article on his life. A life definitely well spent. Good men in a world such as this will surely be missed.

Will you talented people please stop dying for a few weeks? Even Killer Kowalski is looking bad.

"Paul Newman and the Newman’s Own Foundation donate all profits and royalties after taxes for educational and charitable purposes. Paul Newman and the Newman’s Own Foundation have given over $250 million to thousands of charities worldwide since l982. The Newman's Own Foundation makes grants to charities within the United States and abroad."
I admired him on and off screen!

He's a great guy and we'll never forget what he's done while he was here. Good fortune's in your next adventure Paul!

When did we advance to the point we can tell someone they only have one week to live?
-
DAMN! DAMN! DAMN!

While I don't beleive in the Supreme Being, I do believe that he make no mistakes. When he wants us we go.
Pauls passing will much diminish the power of Hollywood.-

I so want this story to be untrue!
I hope he knows how much he's loved and admired by so many people... actors, fans, and the like.
In these, the last of his days. may he never feel alone.
-
Seems like a tabloid story to me. Mr. Newman says he is doing nicely. Give him the courtesy of butting out of his personal life. Who cares who he gives his car to or how his kids feel about it? I wouldn't want strangers reading about that and I bet he doesn't either.
Let's hope he is well and the best befalls him.

A class act all the way...
I recommend everyone go rent "A Long Hot Summer"... its right at the time Newman met his wife I believe..and its especially great knowing the romance in the film would last a lifetime..
hopefully this cancer and impending death "news" is a bunch of crap

I had the privledge of meeting Mr Newman when he was filming Rachel Rachel in Danbury, CT, years ago. After waiting half a day with my friends, Paul Newman came out and was the nicest person possible. He talked to us, signed autographs , and posed for pictures with us. We were a group of 4 girls of about fifteen years old. What a gentleman. I will always have a respect for him and his lovely wife Joann Woodward. My prayers go out to the both of them. Thank you for all the wonderful memories. May God's peace be with you. Linda Bonacci Swan

My favorite movie of Mr. Newman's is The Long, Hot Summer. I think Hollywood is now suffering a bleak, cold winter when we lose our suave, and glamorous stars of the past.
Comment to "vanvollmer"...Explain to me how you can not believe in someone or something but then in an instant finish your thought by adding that mistakes are not made by the same thing that you have no belief in. You sound like a politician, answering the question on both sides of the fence.
Peace!-

Paul and I share the same birthday. But that didn't make me a fan. I've always been a fan. There used to be an afternoon movie everyday when I came home from middle school. I would watch his movies whenever they were on in the afternoon. I always went to see his new movies whenever they hit the theater. He was the perfect specimen of man. Plus he was a greater humanitarian. He will be missed.

NONE OF US GET OUT ALIVE! PAUL NEWMAN IS A CLASS ACT! OUR WORLD NEED MORE OF THESE FOLKS NOT LESS! I HOPE YOUR PASSING IS PEACEFULL PAUL. HE WILL BE MISSED.
-
Paul & Joanne are a rareity in Hollywood, 50 yrs of marriage, no scandal, a private home life and a larger than life screen life. He will be dearly missed by all of us. I can't imagine the loss Joanne will feel. I lost a daughter I know it's not the same but my heart is breaking for her already. Let the Lord comfort her in this tragic time of sorrow. What a wonderful family.

I grew up watching Paul Newman in movies, my mother is so sad and told me to let people know that no matter what people say or do they are still human. Mr. Newman was not trying to buy life for himself, he just was getting the best care possible for someone with cancer. I feel for him and his family , and believe that he is tired and soon will be well rested. My prays and thoughts go with him and his family. Be well, and hopefully the american people leave you to yourself in this time.

Great actor, racer, businessman, and human. His work will continue to live on long after he passes. Even my kids love SlapShot! Can't beat that.

Im reminded of the closing passage of "For Whom The Bells Toll".
Therefore send not to know for whom the bells toll,
They toll for thee.
I know with this mans passing a little bit us will pass with him and the world will never seem the same...Gods speed coolhand. -
Paul Newman has been such a respected person on screen as well as off screen. I have been a fan of his since Cool Hand Luke. I just recently used a line from that movie that related to a bad time I was having in my life "Yes, boss my mind is right etc..." I lived in CT. and my mother was a waitress at a restaurant he had been to in Westport, she said then he was very private and I love that all his fans, friends, media etc... respected that. I knew where I was when heard when Jackie Gleason died and I know that I will remember unfortunately where I will be when I hear this news. I pray for remission if that is what he and his family wants. God bless and my heart poors out to them in their time of need. May his legacy live on through his family, movies and his many charities.

Mr. Newman and his wife are blessed to have shared so many years together. Life is a blessing and choosing to leave a hospital to be with family is the best gift Mr. Newman can give his family at this time. His decision to leave the hospital allows the Newman family to remain intact and in control of decisions that will need to be made in the weeks ahead.
Mr. Newman, you and family are in my prayers.
God be with you.-
