If the signals are coming from the center of the galaxy, wouldn't that be where the bulk of radiation is coming from anyway? Couldn't this just be something from nature, and not necessarily a life form trying to contact us?

Oh man this is some really exciting news! yeah, it may be a natural phenomenon, but WHAT IF it's not? We don't have the technology thus far to send ourselves to their solar system, but perhaps they can come to us.
