Bitch and complain. Seriously. I know it's scary and all, but all the mother is talking about are "what ifs". Nothing happened. Next time check the label BEFORE you give your kid medicine. In fact, you should check that before you leave the pharmacy.

“In the worst case scenario she could have been seriously ill and her breathing may have stopped."

They mean death right? Or is there some other form of not breathing that still keeps you alive?

I saw an investigative report about how the people who work in the pharmacies at Walgreen's are often high schoolers who have no idea about pharmaceutical chemistry. A woman went to get medicine for her daughter's cold, or something mild, and the meds were wrong and gave her daughter seizures, damaged her brain, and she can no longer live a normal life. True story, people. Even if you check the label and it's right, the pills inside could be wrong. Sounds paranoid, I know, but you should always double check what you're getting.

This is downright wrong. Methadone is one of the strongest pain killers on the market and depending on the miligram this girl could have easily overdosed.

Lucky!! She probably sold it all on the street. Can you imagine what the street cred for that was?

Humans make errors. It is really the guardian's job to check any medication before it is taken. We need to do this with any prescription before we use it for safety. Thank goodness that the girl was smarter than her mom and noticed the error prior to ingestion.

This happens more and too often than most people think. Moral of the story: make sure you read the label or you could end up dead :/

There was an article in the NYTimes on Sunday about how dangerous Methadone is when your body isn't used to narcotics.
