By getting the games China was given the opportunity to show the world that it is improving it's human rights. The reports that have been coming in show that they have no intention of doing that.
Perhaps the olympic commitee should consider banning them from competing in future unless there are some positive changes made.

It's crazy how news like this can be hushed up, if of course there is any truth in the story. I read recently that the official Chinese stance is that Tibet has always been a part of China, crazy!

May have? Did they or didn't they? It seems to me with all eyes on them, they would not dare to commit such murderous acts...

    1936 Berlin
    2008 Beijing

Except this time an American president took part in the propaganda festivities for a totalitarian dictatorship.

One more reason why Bush is an embarrassment to the United States: the disaster in Iraq, torture as policy, and now tool for communist propaganda.

    Yuck

China has absolutely no intention of improving their human rights, they did invade Tibet in 1959 i personally know a Lama who tried to flee Tibet but who was tortured by the Chinese, he now lives in Canada.just as an example take a look at them kidnapping the Pachen Lama and now wanting to kidnap the future Dalai Lama's reincarnation.
