American cars are so far behind in hybrids except for Ford Explorer hybrid.... let's hope this time is different.

Newsflash: it's really based upon a Korean Daewoo Lacetti.

"The primary engineering and development will come from GMDAT — General Motor’s Korean partner (although there has been strong input from the North American and European planning groups)."

Seems GM management still can't figure out how to produce an American-designed compact car.

Not in the least surprising, and probably why GM recorded a $38.7 billion loss in 2007.
