"The Women" is a remake of a movie of the same title from 1939. The original is actually worth watching. It shows the cattiness of society women in that time, is very witty, and the performances are excellent. I hope the remake holds up to the original (doubt it...)

It's frustrating that it's still impossible for a woman in Hollywood to be happy if she doesn't have her knight in shining armor. Clearly, a man to dote on is what makes life worth living! I mean hey, they can surely add meaning and happiness... But are those things unachievable without one?
Some women like car chases and explosions, too. Also, sensible, comfortable clothing! How does anyone run in heels?
Funny stuff, kudos.

I LOVE THESE PODS. The best part was definitely when Sarah's face is photoshopped over all of the movie posters.

Sarah, all of your "Target Women" segments are unbelievably awesome. I first saw them linked from feministing.com (where you have many avid fans) and I've converted several friends. My humble suggestion for a future segment: commercials for cleaning products that imply a romantic relationship between a woman and her mop, like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=accrp2BFMTE
Those have been driving me batshit insane lately. Keep up the good work, on whatever topic!-

Oh my God. "Happy-Go-Lucky" was marketed completely differently here in the UK. It never even occured to me that one might sell it as a "chick flick".
-
I was curious about what J_0 said about the film "Happy-Go-Lucky" being marketed differently in the UK so I looked up the trailer online. J_0 was right...
Here's the American trailer:
http://www.apple.com/trailers/miramax/happygolucky/And here's the British trailer:
http://www.mymovies.net/player/default.asp?TRID=7346|3557&filmid=7346&s=2&n=2Apparently American women are more willing to pay 12$ than the Brits if there's a sappy guy story line involved in making a "happy" woman happy. Gah.

I want to marry Colin Firth....Sarah I adore you, but Colin is mine!!

Great one, Sarah - so smart and funny. I found you thru Jezebel and I'm going to spread the Target Women gospel on my Saucy Media blog where I write about women, comedy and content. Nice to find a kindred spirit!

umm, i actually had popcorn for dinner last night.
-
Damn it I love chick flicks! Mainly because the men in those movies who sweep their women off their feet, have jobs, cars, no dui's, they have bank accounts and they did all the previous on their own, they also don't blow their nose in the shower, throw a fit in public, or drain the life out of you with all the problems that a woman would be able to take care of in a half an hour. Why the hell can't I fantasize about that?
-
i too love popcorn for dinner and sometimes crying for fun!
great stuff!
-
I do love Colin Firth

Forget Colin Firth.
