Every single morning after waking up, I get the joy of news about a new all destroying disease/meteor/planet/science experiment etc.

As if life in itself isn't a blast already. lol

I want my mum.

And here we are fretting about global warming..pfff

I bet we can destroy it all on our own before any other major event can!

On this scale, what will be will be. The consequences for all life in this solar system would be dire.

God using Jupiter to purge his mistakes...?

Another worry to add to our list, but hey we all have to die one day, even the sun!

I would prefer if Jupiter didn't do that.

This is a matter of national security, Jupiter is a threat to our sovereign nation. we have to go to war with Jupiter arm the damn nukes and raise the terror level. our war on terror is going terrestrial. lets take the fight to Jupiter before it strikes us at home. bomb bomb bomb Jupiter.

What they don't tell you is that Jupiter is upset because it's friends with Pluto, who is orbiting all alone out there no longer even recognized as a planet...

Jupiter may explode and kill us all? Ay yi yi. I mean, I'm freaked about it, but I'm actually more obsessed with questions like "where did I put my keys?" and "will anyone notice this chorizo-stain?" I think this Jupiter thing is a definitive case of a problem too big to worry about.

Someone should call Ben Affleck and see if he is free next week....

Ok. The day that Jupiter blows up is the day that I go up the the "end is near" guy and shake his hand. I am pretty sure that WE will destroy ourselves / this planet before that happens, though.

lets all move out into space and wait for the apocalypse to end. then we can go back down and be happy. :)

What I don't get is, if Jupiters moon explodes, the chances of it hitting earth are tiny! think how big jupiter is, it orbits jupiter so the chances of it exploding at the point of orbitation where its inline with the earth is tiny!!!

This is definitely not good news. As some of you may know, Jupiter's weather is largely the result of it having an internal heat source, in addition to the energy absorbed by the Sun; this energy is due to the continual contraction, releasing energy from the days of the accretion disk. These new storms indicate an increased Coriolis Effect, which is probably due to a vast increase in heat emission, in the past three years. This is very serious; and may be very legitimate threat to our existence...
