Impressive drive. . . his speech felt like the torch of hope and progress of a nation was handed from one generation to the next. . . Cool to be living it!
-
I teared up through out his speech, having worked for his brother Bobby's run when it was cut short, in 6th grade when John was murdered. This country has never been the same. Teddy lives for his brothers dreams and ours.
-
Simply inspiring.
Hope is a beautiful thing. -
too bad he isnt as healthy as he was in 1980.
I just watched his speech on c span from 1980 DNC
and I must say that he talked about the exact same things that are at issue in this election, things haven't changed just gotten worse... chilling speech about what the future holds... for the next 28 years. too bad he had to concede to michael Dukakis or we may have had a whole different country then this bush dynasty we now live in.

Way to go Teddy. Keep fighting the good fight on all fronts. You have made a positive difference in too many lives to count when you could have been sailing. We need more politicians with your dedication to important causes that would otherwise slip through the cracks. Thanks for so many years of public service.

Ted Kennedy is an American hero and an icon. Our country is much better off today having had hid serve it for so long. Thank you Ted

He is a national treasure. Private Ibber

I hope he talks Obama out of his health care plan (ie health insurance for all because it is mandatory that you have to buy it) into a single-payer health plan. I was impressed with him physically. Both arms were moving. He looked like he was limping on his (left?) leg.
-
Here is the tribute film for Senator Kennedy that preceded his moving speech.
-
Wonderful speech. He gave it his all. I was so proud of him.
-
May Mr Kennedy's presence at the DNC infuse Democratic Senators and Congressmen with a renewed sense of purpose, confidence, and adherance to liberal values.
-
The only thing they left out was how he drove home drunk and crawled home quickly while that young girl drowned to death.
Other than that pretty good.
-
My mom was crying while he gave his speech becuase this is an extradionary moment in her lifetime and mine.
-
he is the man!!!
-
I commend Kennedy's coming back from brain surgery to promote his party nominee. I can't believe why someone would mock him for that in this thread. They must have a lot of hate in their heart...
-
Good to see he's healthy..

Maybe it is interesting for you to know the latest poll from Germany: if Germans were allowed to vote for the next American President, 75% would vote for Barack Obama...
He's a kind of popstar here in Germany. I won't forget his visit to Berlin just a month ago. More than 200.000 people listened to his speech at the Siegessäule and Barack Obama dominated the headlines in Germany for more than a week. German politicians can only dream about such a popularity.
Have a look at my film "Obamania in Berlin" to get more information about the hype in Germany...

No.
Apparently if Democrats could...they'd raise Abraham Lincoln from the grave (if he sided with them) just so they could win votes.
I wonder how much of him showing up was because he wanted to against because they demanded him to?
This is a political game not a game of hearts and hugs. People are so blinded by the blue and red that it's hilarious ...it even, apparently, extends to Germany.
And what is with the over recommending going on? Apparently as long as you agree with the two that are recommending they'll recommend your comment...how...political.
-
Ted Kennedy went and gave a speech against his doctors orders because he has a great love for this country. People that are undergoing cancer treatment are risking their life to go into that kind of crowd. How dare you criticize him for that.

I will say what I feel and I don't think he did this out of the goodness of his heart.
But those that do think so only because they want Obama to win not because they actually believe it.
The moment people actually have a feeling that isn't a bleeding heart for their own political causes I will start to actually consider them humans.
Anyone in politics, now days, can't be human.

well everything is a stunt leadiing up to somewhere in pollitics as i have learned.... jammer... and while dems would do anything to look good.. .so would repubs... and every election is the same... you choose the lesser of two evils
