SARASOTA, FL - Sarasota police are starting a new crackdown. They're trying to get people who pump up the volume to turn it down. And the penalty will be tough.

    • Awesome! I hope they take this route in Las Vegas as well. Every 20 minutes some yahoo drives by in an SUV or a pimped out caddie trying to look all "gangsta" with their $300 stereo that's all bass and no class. It's both funny and annoying at the same time.

    • This is a good ordinance. It's not the standard loud car stereos I have a problem with, I play my music loudly all the time.
It's the earth shaking, window rattling woofers that need to be turned down. It's not even motivated by music appreciation, it's pure rudeness.
Prevent noise pollution, and also save the hearing of these jerks!

Hi JJ; I really sympathize with you. Have you tried to give a call to your non-emergency Police Department of your area and ask them for help. Some of the solutions I found it is to show up at the Police meetings and get to know the Officer that patrols your area. These types of issues it is more than a nuisance and anti-social behavior issue. In addition get a camera and film them on the act. Try to get also the licences plate from the vehicles. These types of individuals have consideration for no one. If you do not report, they will come back.
