A Culture of Terror and Chaos

That is indeed a sad reality of American's "mediocracy" and "anti-social behavior" that started before or with the film "Easy Rider" back in the 60's. The Film was produced in 1969 but this mediocre motorcycle culture started in the 60's by Harley Davidson and its followers that today acoustically terrorizes inhabitants all over United States.

Should we blame the Producers of the Movie, "Easy Rider"?
Not in my opinion! They had all the rights to do the movie. People in society are the ones that suppose to separate their fantasies from reality and recognize that they do not have the right to imitate that. Motorcycle somehow became a symbol of "a fake freedom" that disturbs inhabitants all over the United States.

Notice the Harley-Davidson style eagle logo for the Bible Baptist Christian Academy. Many fundamentalist Christian groups now favor the Eagle (an emblem of pagan imperial Rome and of Antiochus IV---know as the Abomination of Desolation in Christian and Jewish traditions) over the traditional symbol of the Dove.

We may be your doctor, co-worker or your next door neighbor. Two things that we all have in common is our love of Jesus Christ and a common bond in our enjoyment of motorcycle riding, all kinds of motorcycles! Today we are not the Hollywood image of old. We are everyday folks who just happen to love to ride motorcycles.

Ken Ham was the keynote speaker, and spoke on how “We’re Taking them Back!” The main idea behind the talk is that science has claimed evidence to support their views, but now it’s our turn to take them back and claim them for Christ. Ken really has a way of speaking to motivate people!

    • ABOUT US:
In 1993 DC made the statement that she did not like motorcycles and especially disliked Harley-Davidson Motorcycles because they are so noisy. Only a few months later she would make a new statement. In a tone of amazement, while standing in her executive office in her executive suit, she said, "I think I want to ride a Harley".
She rode her first Harley as a passenger on November 19,1993 on an Ultra Classic Electro Glide. By the time DC came to San Diego on March 14th 1997 she had fallen deeply in love with riding on a Harley.
As DC drove her car through Carlsbad to begin her new life in San Diego, she passed by a man who was riding on a Harley. The excitement of riding on a Harley gripped her and she said a prayer. For many years DC was single and she had been praying for God to send the right man into her life.
On March 14th she prayed, "Father God, I want to meet a nice looking man who is of professional employment and who rides a Harley". Many years before she had written a list of all the remarkable qualities she was looking for in a husband but had given up and misplaced the list since it didn't appear it would happen. But on this day a new prayer of hope sprang forth from her lips.

In 1997, DC met Ed at her brother-in-law's retirement party. The story is nothing other than a God story. Ed & DC were supernaturally placed together with others at the party initiating conversation for them. DC's sister said, "DC won't date anyone unless they have a Harley!" Ed's office mate said, "Ed has a Harley!" DC had her back to everyone in the room and was leaned over decorating a table for the party. Nearly at the speed of light she was across the room and standing in front of Ed saying, "You ride a Harley"? Ed, with his sweet grin nodded a yes. DC's next statement was, "Do you like to ski too"? Well the rest is history. Once Ed found out how much DC liked to ride he signed her up for motorcycle safely course in November of 1998. Ed bought another Harley and gave the one he had to DC to ride. DC had met the man she had prayed to meet in Ed, a good-looking man with a professional background and who rides a Harley. By the way, remember that list of remarkable qualities…Ed has them all!
Soon Ed discovered DC had a much deeper love for someone else. She loved Him so much and her passion was so great for Him that Ed quickly fell in love with Jesus too. In November of 1999 Ed and DC were married. DC had asked Ed if he would come to church with her when they got married - he said "Yes". They visited Skyline Church in February of 2000. They started SkyRiders Motorcycle Group on September 23, 2000. Ed & DC feel truly blessed that they can enjoy life loving and honoring Jesus and riding their Harleys for His Glory. And oh, by the way, remember how DC didn't like Harleys because they were too noisy? DC's Harley is loud, she has LOUD pipes…VERY LOUD pipes…and they sound like beautiful music to her ears.
      For His Glory,
      Ed & DC Peterson

NOTE: Click on “ABOUT US” for the story from which I’ve pasted the following excerpts.
OUR INVOLVEMENT WITH AMERICA FOR JESUS:
On the morning of June 28, 2004, I (DC) was awakened by a praise song playing in my mind about my love for God. It was so invasive and would not go away. I heard God speak into my mind, as He has so many times, "Daughter! I love you!" In my mind I said back "Father, I love you too." This went on 2 more times. Then again, "Daughter! I love you!" I said out loud, "Father, I love you too." This went on two more times. Just as I drifted back to sleep, I heard in my mind "Daughter! Something good is going to happen to you!" My eyes opened and I sleepily repeated back to my Father, "Something good is going to happen to me."
About that time, I got my 5:30 wake up call from my husband and I told him about what had happened. After speaking to Ed I rose to watch Benny Hinn as I do every week day morning. Benny Hinn was talking with Bishop John Gimenez from The Rock Church in Virginia Beach who spoke of a rally for prayer in Washington, D.C. October 22-23.
The program continued, when suddenly I supernaturally knew God wanted us to lead a motorcycle group to Washington for this rally. I got so excited about it that by 6:20 a.m. I called my husband to tell him. While on the phone I felt compelled to pray about what had just occurred and to ask what the Lord might have for us. We immediately received a prophetic word from the Holy Spirit. God said, "I have called you for the time to do this. I want you to go forward with it. I, the Lord thy God, am with you". Later that morning, I was preparing for the day and to go grocery shopping. I guess I was still processing what had just occurred. The Holy Spirit impressed upon me to go immediately and call The Rock Church about the rally to find out more.

I contacted The Rock Church and ended up speaking with Rev. Anna Gimenez, sister of Bishop Gimenez who said that just that morning they were praying for the motorcycle group involvement for the rally! She said that Bishop Gimenez wanted to speak to me. A man got on the phone that sounded to me as though he had music in his voice. He introduced himself as John Gimenez of "The Rock Church." I felt his anointing come across the phone line as he spoke. In other words, my spirit was bearing witness with his. I shared with him all that I had experienced about how God had called us into relationship with the America for Jesus Rally and he received it with great understanding. I shared with Bishop Gimenez of how God woke me up singing to me and he exclaimed, "He wakes me up singing to me also". Bishop Gimenez gave us some words of wisdom, prayed over us, and anointed us for service right then while on the phone. It was awesome…It Was God!

    • “UNCONSTITUTIONAL AND DISCRIMINATORY LAWS AGAINST MOTORCYCLISTS”
The American Motorcyclists Association’s (AMA) response to the environmental reforms of the 60s was “the formation of the AMA's Legislative Department, with a mission to ". . .coordinate national legal activity against unconstitutional and discriminatory laws against motorcyclists, to serve as a sentinel on federal and state legislation affecting motorcyclists, and to be instrumental as a lobbying force for motorcyclists and motorcycling interests. ''http://www.amadirectlink.com/whatis/history.asp A Motorcycle Riders Foundation (MRF) http://www.mrf.org/ paper reveals the collusion between motorcycle consumer-enthusiasts and the industry: “Reducing noise would require new research and development, and would…affect sales. We should be able to rely on the industry for technical information to combat such regulations [and] they…on us for grassroots activism...”
Like the American air transportation industry, U.S. motorcycle businesses demonstrate an unhealthy fear of meeting the challenge of superior EU standards. The National Coalition of Motorcyclists refers to these standards as “the EUROPEAN THREAT…threats such as…noise limits.” The American motorcycle industry has organized consumers through motorcycle rights organizations to “work with allies in Europe to influence talks on vehicle globalization”

In Virginia and many other states May is Motorcycle Awareness Month—31 days of Politically Correct pandering brought to us the Virginia Motorcycle Advisory Council and State Motorcycle Rights Organizations (SMRO) like VIRGINIA FREEDOM RIDERS / RIDERS AGAINST CONSTITUTIONAL EROSION http://www.vfr-race.com/ and Governor Tim Kaine. The Governor’s proclamation fails to alert the public of the harm the motorcycle industry does to Liberty and Justice in America. VFR-RACE wants to “stop the persecution of motorcyclists, regain our lost rights, [so] we can enjoy our lifestyle as other Americans enjoy theirs” while many Americans are not free to open a window on a nice day or enjoy conversation because of roaring Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Why must Virginians cede the sanctity of their homes to noisemakers and the businesses that empower them? Members of the motorcycle rights community seem to believe that they are entitled to the time they rob from their neighbors with distracting noise. When a child turns from her homework each time a Harley-Davidson® rumbles through her neighborhood, time from her life is taken away—forever.
Ordinary Americans who wish for some peace and quiet or a good night’s sleep, are defenseless against hidden armies of lawyers, lobbyists, legislators and consumer-enthusiasts. http://www.bikernet.com/rights/ http://www.bikernet.com/

    • Actually, the biker-bully, fake-freedom, everybody-is-out-to-get-us, ethos has been around for more than a century.
The Biker MEdiocracy existed long before the Movie Easy Rider. Motorcycle Rights Organizations and Motorcycle business interests just happened to stoop low enough to use the movie to foster the notion that disturbing others with motorcycle noise is a legitimate expression of American Freedom—IT IS NOT!
The persecuted biker myth was well established among dealers, clubs, and magazines by 1903. Rather than face those whose business they interrupted with noise, biker groups employed PR on the public front and back-channel lobbying on the legislative—they’ve been at it ever since. Recently, the Congressional Quarterly noted ”the political muscle motorcyclists enjoy…strength of rider organizations…to mobilize…on statehouse steps in a phalanx of wheels, loud mufflers...state groups are organized with military precision and employ sophisticated political tactics.”
It is true, however, that EASYRIDERS Magazine was the headquarters for underground Biker’s Rights movement beginning in the 1970s: [A HISTORY OF BIKERS RIGHTS IN AMERICA: As Seen By Bill Bish; http://www.bikernet.com/news/specials/rightshistory.asp ]

    • An example of the “everyone is out to get us” ethos that pervades so many biker subcultures, Motorcycle Rights Organizations, and the business interests that empower them:
“I saw you complain about how loud and noisy our bikes can be.
But you didn't see me when you were changing the CD and drifted
      into my lane.”
      JUST A BIKER
      http://www.abatega.org/just_a_biker.htm
I saw you hug your purse closer to you in the grocery store line.
But you didn't see me put an extra $10.00 in the collection plate
      last Sunday.
I saw you change your mind about going into the restaurant.
But you didn't see me attending a meeting to raise more money for
      the hurricane relief.
I saw you roll up your window and shake your head when I drove by.
But you didn't see me driving behind you when you flicked your
cigarette butt out the car window.
I saw you frown at me when I smiled at your children.
But you didn't see me when I took time off from work to run toys
      to the homeless.
I saw you roll your eyes at our leather coats and gloves.
But you didn't see me and my brothers donate our old coats and
gloves to those that had none.
I saw you change lanes while rushing off to go somewhere.
But you didn't see me going home to be with my family.
I saw you complain about how loud and noisy our bikes can be.
But you didn't see me when you were changing the CD and drifted
      into my lane.
I saw you, reading the newspaper or map as you drove down the road.
But, you didn't see me, squeeze my wife's leg when she told me to
      take the next turn.
I saw you run the yellow light just to save a few minutes of time.
But you didn't see me trying to turn right.
I saw you cut me off because you needed to be in the lane I was
in. But you didn't see me leave the road.
I saw you waiting impatiently for my friends to pass.
But you didn't see me. I wasn't there.
I saw you go home to your family. But you didn't see me.
I died that day you cut me off.
I was just a biker. A person with friends and a family.
      But you didn't see me.

Sure you do not understand what is to live near by these types of individuals. Sure they are not roaring with their engines in your backward. Maybe you are so protected from them and their acoustic invasion that you lost sense of reality and your mind can only see a false glory or some imaginary benefit. It is a pervasive and twisted philosophy to glorify anti-social behavior and said that this is what America it is about.
I understand the art and marketing behind it. Many writers or movie makers are only showing a fantasy through their art. When you the viewer start to glorify this fantasy and bring it to real events there it is where the confusion and chaos starts. Many people that thinks you need to be loud to be less boring it is certainly twisting and out of touch with reality. Out of your confusion, the truth it is that noise and excessive noise are signs of corruption and social decadence.

    • LIBERTY & “OUTLAW BRAND” MARKETING
"It's not hardware; it is a lifestyle, an emotional attachment. That's what we have to keep marketing to." --Richard F. Teerlink, Harley's chairman and former chief executive.
‘...Harley-Davidson was on its way to the suburbs, where the thunder would reach ear-shattering levels.’ --Brock Yates, Outlaw Machine.
“Harley-Davidson is an American icon—but, paradoxically, one that captures the Outlaw rather than the heroic character of American life.” [THE HERO AND THE OUTLAW: Building Extraordinary Brands Through the Power of Archetypes. Margaret Mark & Carol S. Pearson]
In the past, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) coordinated all federal noise control activities through its Office of Noise Abatement and Control (ONAC). From 1972 to 1981 ONAC aided states in developing effective noise control programs, provided funds for noise research, and produced public educational materials on the harmful effects of noise and ways to control it. In 1981, as ONAC was preparing to establish noise standards for transportation sources, its funding was abruptly cut off. Federal oversight of transportation noise is now filled by agencies whose core mandates are often at odds with quiet communities. [A Voice to End the Government's Silence on Noise Arline L. Bronzaft, Ph.D. http://www.lhh.org/noise/archives/23-1/voice.html ]
By the late 1970s Harley-Davidson, unable to compete with superior Japanese and European motorcycles, had been near bankruptcy for some time. In 1982, just after ONAC was stripped of its funding, Harley begged for and received a federal bailout. [Uneasy Rider: Harley pleads for relief. TIME Economy & Business, Dec. 13, 1982.] In a 1986 IPO, Vaughn Beals, then Harley's chief executive, and a dozen other company officers who found outside financing, acquired the lion’s share of the company’s stock. Harley kept the old-fashioned engine design for the noise it produced. (The company even applied for patent protection of the Harley engine noise. [The Trademark Registrability of the Harley-Davidson Roar: A Multimedia Analysis Michael B. Sapherstein http://www.bc.edu/bc_org/avp/law/st_org/iptf/articles/content/1998101101.html ]) Harley-Davidson’s new strategy not to advertise the mechanical quality of its product but to market the Harley as the centerpiece of an outlaw biker lifestyle—the lifestyle image of what the American Motorcyclists Association (attempting to assure citizens that 99 percent of its members were law-abiding citizens) denounced as the "1 percent" of bikers who gave motorcycling a bad name.
“The company embraced the one per centers [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motorcycle_club#One_Percenters] and reframed their destructive tendencies as a guide to what their most hardcore and loyal customers wanted. As a result, the company's fortunes were reversed and its value soared… Hells Angels as lead-users - what a great notion." [ Modern Marketing Blog's January 16, 2006 "Why Hells Angels Know Best", by James Cherkoff.] Harley-Davidson went so far as to market the antisocial tribal identity of the Hells Angels to suburbanites as patriotic virtue! Automotive journalist Brock Yates put it this way: “At the very core were the Hells Angels, the ultimate outsiders and the truly anointed…Harley-Davidson masterfully mixed the bad-guy image of the biker gangs with the independent, free-thinking, patriotic American cowboy… totally loyal to the nation’s core traditions.” [OUTLAW MACHINE: Brock Yates, p. 157] News media went along for the ride and printed Harley PR as journalism: They’re nice folks: "doctors, lawyers, policemen, business owners" who love “the booming sound and patriotic fury [that] Harley thunders.” Of course they’re nice folks, but demanding other folks’ attention isn’t nice or patriotic; it’s rude.
