Did Palin fake pregnancy to pass 16yr old daughter's baby off as her own?

interesting this comes on the heels of the story she suddenly left a national governor's conference, claiming her water broke, to fly home to Alaska to give birth.

deserves more investigation, indeed.

McCain should investigate this before the convention actually nominates Governor Palin for VP, if he hasn't already. If the story is true, it would be very hard to trust this woman as VP.

What woman in her right mind would fly to another state to give birth and not go straight to the nearest hospital??

This upsets me for the young girl. Apparently her mother was blind and stupid. Then she concocts a fairy tale to cover up what would not have been a blip on the radar screen if it was just faced and admitted. Now the whole world is talking about something that should be a private family matter if they had just been honest. She is not only stupid to have thought she could pull this off and run for VP but to subject her daughter to this makes her a piss poor mother.

Typically I would be pretty disgusted with anyone targeting a candidate's family. As a mom, I am not sure that I wouldn't protect my own daughter if that were truly her choice. But at the end of the day, I am not just a mom...I am pro-choice and pro woman. I believe that when you politicize that pregnancy by pulling out the pro-life card, then I say by all means lets find out all we can. What would this mean for the better than though right wing conservatives if their poster child of the month was hiding a secret like this?

I really dont know what to believe, but the blog has alot of information that seems legit. I really hope this is brought to the spot light and answered before or if McCain gets elected.

We'll never really know the truth about this one. If it's propaganda, no one would ever admit it. And if it were true, the republicans will pay off anyone and everyone to keep it in the closet. Even if it would come to a DNA test, doctors and technicians can be bought...very easily.

Such is the information world we live in and why the republicans have really mastered it. Their top people know that you can say anything. It's very hard to find out the truth. Even if an individual can track down a solid source, that solid source could be (even unwittingly) passing on officially approved BS.

Disgusting. You Obama worshipers are truly sick people. Obama's kids are off limits, but you have no qualms about destroying this teenage girl's life. Damn, I will say one thing, you learned your lessons well from Rove and neo-cons. And I hold Obama groupies in about as high regard.

We didn't destroy her life. That blame is squarely on her mothers shoulders. Honesty would have taken care of it. Her mothers big elaborate lie is the whole problem.

As if politicians don't lie enough, if this is true there's going to be trouble for Palin. I guess the only thing worse than this would be if she secretly let her daughter get an abortion. Now THAT would be a story.

I am new to the blogging world... ( I know... not like I have been under a rock in Afghanistan) but I don't know how this works... will try to figure it out. I love the discourse even when some of us disagree.

Too many coincidences for one story to not have something there.

As any mother of more than one child knows, once you've had one child you show earlier in each successive pregnancy. I have a hard time believing that a woman in her sixth or seventh month wouldn't be showing enough of a baby bump to be wearing maternity clothing. Although it is also true that in mononucleosis ones spleen can enlarge and cause a distended stomach (as young Miss Palin apparently had in the above photograph) I find it extremely hard to believe that an expectant mother who's water has broken would then take the time to give a speech before flying to a distant hospital to give birth. In my experience, the birth of each child after the first is more rapid than the one before it. Too many odd coincidences to be taken lightly.

I hope the democrats don't go anywhere near this. And despite the fact that it would secure the white house for Obama...I hope it isn't true. I'm sorry, but no 16 year old girl needs to be put through this kind of speculation no matter how backward her Mother's views are. And if ANY democrat is seen as trying to capitalize on this story they are risking the mother of all backlashes.

There is no way that a 5th child is not already showing on the governor!. Once you have a baby your body immediately begins to change with the next pregnancy. Do you realize how far Texas is from Alaska and she actually flew home instead of going to a Texas hospital? Either she is lying or she was trying to kill her child because she knew he had downes. Then again, we know that her daughter is a partier (drugs/drink) she could have also caused the baby to have downes. Either way it smells fishy!
