The REAL American Dream

What is it?
The term wasn't necessarily heard of before this century, or at least it wasn't very important.
It comes from the term "migration". Migration is a basic law of nature that cannot be changed and occurs when times are tough and beings just basically move.
Immigration is like migration, except the migrant moves to stay.
Now we are all hearing that this is made illegal, people are being deported in the hundreds every day. Normal people like us. People who work, who live on this land, who want to actually make something of themselves. People who quite possibly do not know or remember any other land but ours.
This country was founded by immigrants searching for a better life. These fellow immigrants are now making it impossible for other immigrants to do just that. The American Dream has been lost.
There are people out there who are trying to make a difference. Look at it this way:
remember the migration thing? It being a basic law of nature?
When this country becomes tough, people will go where it is nice or do something about it, that's just how it is. Apparently problems in other lands are larger than anyone can deal with right now. In the U.S. there is still a chance. There is talent here. There are people here who can make a difference.
The only problem is that the government has labeled them "illegal".
Join us to make our voices heard. You have to take small steps first before you can get somewhere you want.
Stop the limitation. Support the Dream Act, support The REAL American Dream.

The decedents of African slaves responsible for what happened to their parents? African slaves were brought here involuntarily and they eventually became U.S. citizens. Why can't we be given that, we were young, we could not make a contrary decision. Apply for legal citizenship, that is what this is asking for, it is our best way to become citizens because there is NO other way, we are straggling between two countries that don't recognize us. And all that separates me from you, is a piece of paper that says your name. Don't make your self feel better by being able to look down at someone, because I am going to UC Berkeley next semester, what school are going to? BTW my parents do pay income taxes, and for schools, roads, and park, sales tax is what pays for it. Imagine if your meager $20 or perhaps less dollars went to paying for those services, we would not even get one piece of grass.

"The decedents of African slaves responsible for what happened to their parents?"
what?
i hope you're not comparing people coming to this country against their will to people coming to this country voluntarily. while both situations are unfortunate, there is a clear difference.
and we (as a people) did not get citizenship over night. it's not that easy.
you did not make the decision to come here but your parents did and sadly that is a consequence. they knew they were putting you in this position before they came here.
the dream act has nothing to do with applying for citizenship. this is another band-aid solution to bypass legal immigration. if you really cared about becoming a citizen you would be fighting for better immigration reform.
"Don't make your self feel better by being able to look down at someone"
i don't look down on anyone. just because i don't have the same views as you does not mean i'm some racist redneck. my family is a family of immigrants. my cousins boyfriend doesn't have legal status. he's not bitching about scholarships, he's doing his best to try to become legal and i'm helping him every step of the way.
it's funny you say not to look down on someone yet you try to seem better than me because you're going to berkeley. have fun playing hacky-sack.
if there were no illegal immigrants in the united states we would not crumble with the loss of your taxes. i think you forget about all of the illegal immigrants who don't pay taxes and all of the taxes that are spent on illegal immigrants.
i understand that the immigration process sucks, but this isn't going to make it any easier. this isn't going to fix the problems
and like i said; their parents shouldn't have broken the law
