Democrats, Republicans Miss Texas Deadline to Certify Presidential Nominees
Both the McCain and Obama campaigns failed to file papers with the Texas Secretray of States office by the deadline in the Texas State Election Code (August 26th or 70 Days before the election.) This deadline being a day before Obama's official nomination, and 3 days before McCain announced a running mate.
Both major party candidates are now listed as on the ballot in Texas, even though they could not and did not meet this deadline. Third party and Independant candidates are always forced to jump through hoops and follow extremely strict ballot access guidelines in order to get their names on ballots in many states in the US. Still, the two major parties failed to follow one simple rule, but will still have a loophole in place to allow their names to appear.
This will be a landmark case for Third Party and Independents as the Libertatian Campaign of Bob Barr, the one candidate who did file papers before the deadline, is expected to fight the GOP and Dem certifications in an attempt to ensure the State of Texas to uphold its own statute.

The McCain and Obama campaigns are breaking the law while at the same time McCain is suing in PA to try to knock the Barr off the ballot for NOT breaking the law. The election law in this country are designed to rig the process against the opposition parties and it needs to stop.
