DESPITE the deteriorating economic outlook self-employed home-based professionals are optimistic regarding the performance of their businesses.
A survey by 450 self-employed home-based professionals found that 43% of respondents describing current trading conditions as positive.
The top three benefits of setting up your own business from home were being your own boss (96%), having the freedom and flexibility to decide when you work (96%) and being able to offer clients a flexible service (78%).
Contrary to popular belief having the opportunity to earn more money (61%) and getting to spend more time with the family (48%) came significantly further down the list of benefits.
