rad piece.
and it looks like rage did, in fact, sort of do what they told 'em.
-
Here is an eerie sight we caught downtown during this protest: the police lined up in front of Mickey's Dining Car. Can you imagine being the diner's line cook and getting stuck inside during the protest?

So we are free to protest as long as we go to jail and pay a fine? WTF is wrong with this ass-backward country? We started from rebellion and should have listened to Thomas Jefferson -"Every generation needs a new revolution." and "An honest man can feel no pleasure in the exercise of power over his fellow citizens." Then the riot police should feel like complete demons or a**holes for brutalizing unarmed protesters.
And the protesters should never incite the police to violence. We just can't live together peacefully, can we? -
Everybody has a right to peacefully protest. Chanting "fuck you" and rioting all over the Capitol is NOT peaceful.
I was watching McCain's speech yesterday, and it was interrupted about 5-6 times by protesters inside the building.
People should have the right to protest peacefully, but in my opinion if the riot police hadn't been there the convention hall would have been overrun.
If you are going to protest against a government, show some human decency, no matter what you think.
Where was the coverage of Republican protesters at the DNC? I seem to remember the 2004 Boston DNC, where protesters were CAGED.
Quit telling one-sided stories!

just more evidence we live in a police state..."we need to take the power back"RATM

I have lived a long life and I have witnessed many events. This reminds me of the Nixon days. Since Bush became president, why are Americans no longer allowed to protest against the political decisions of the government? The first time I read about protestors being placed in areas away from the event taking place and being kept there by police guard, my first thought was China, Russia, Cuba.....comunist control. How can this happen the the United States of American that we can no longer protest the wrongs of the government that is supposed to be serving us..the people. I fear for the future of my children and grandchildren. Bush has single handedly ruined out economy, lied to us about a war that should never have happened, wasted the lives of our youth soldiers, disgraced us in the eyes of our former friends overseas. If I were young again, I would stand beside them and protest until the end. God bless American and God bless the people who have the courage to protest. They have that right!

SHADES OF THINGS TO COME ...
JUST A HINT : BEFORE YOU EXPORT DEMOCRACY, TRY HAVING IT AT HOME !
PS : I WONT THINK LIKE YOU WANT ME TOO EITHER ;)
"A people living under the perpetual menace of war and invasion is very easy to govern. It demands no social reforms. It does not haggle over expenditures for armaments and military equipment. It pays without discussion, it ruins itself, and that is an excellent thing for the syndicates of financiers and manufacturers for whom patriotic terrors are an abundant source of gain" - Anatole France

Maybe I missed something, but I didn't see anything that would warrant that type of police presence.

Just show that the Communist supporters are quite violent. Nothing new in that. Stalin killed millions to get his way.
Democrats have Hammas, Communist USA and an Impeached president endorsing their candidate and you worry about the Commies getting rough.
Vote Obama and support the effort to bring down the country to this level. -
Can anyone tell me the name of the song and who it's by at the start of the pod? Oh, and hey Palin! "They don't gotta burn the books they just remove em!"

Obama supporters sound as if they want to fight. But they will have nothing to fight with when his liberal appointed justices take away their guns. Don't let name calling be your greatest weapon. Push for the restoration of the Bill of Rights, no matter what candidate you support. Not only do we need bipartisan cooperation in congress, we also need it on a neighborhood level if we ever want to grow as a nation.
-
The Republican administration's restraint on free speech isn't dissimilar to the reaction of the Chinese government to the "FreeTibet" protests. Scary.
