While documentaries like "Super Size Me" and "The Smartest Guys in the Room" have shown corporate practices in a negative light, now it seems that some companies are trying to do some filmmaking of their own.

If the documentary focuses on just one brand, then it's just an hour long ad to me.

Sounds like a new form of infomercial, to me.

it's an interesting trend, since the filmmaker often considered the first film documentarian - Robert Flarety was sponsored by an oil company when he produced Louisiana Story in 1948. It shows me how hard it is to finance good documentaries.

It is just a commercial unless all viewpoints are brought. That green cleaners company is guess who... none other than the mighty clorox which is probably Johnson&Johnson Co. Don't get me wrong, any chemical company trying to go green is great as long as they aren't deceiving at the same time. I'd dare them to actually list the ingredients of that so called "green cleaning product."

Documentaries need funding, I'd just hope that no one would allow their content to be changed, edited, or elaborated upon by whoever is funding the project. And you can always make your own on Current TV!!!!! No funding necessary. Universities too.
