The harsh Martian winter will inevitably destroy Phoenix, but scientists are trying to give it as long as possible.

It's a shame that Phoenix has to die, but it's already given us some great pictures, as well as actually doing what it was designed to do; provide evidence of water ice on Mars.

this is kinda dissapointing.. i mean we spend so much and then it dies so fast.. its like buying that special toy which turns breaks like a day after and the guy wont give you your money back and then you have a need for revenge all you life and drop out and get welfare and buy a gun and hunt the man down and destroy him...

OH, poor little pheonix. I went to a lecture for engineers where they told us how they built that rover. It's been a tough little guy!
