Women's Coach of the Hokuloa Outrigger Canoe Club, Susan McMaster has been surrounded by the outrigging culture in Southern California since its beginnings 30 years ago.
First coached by Sonny Kahanamoku, nephew of surf legend Duke Kahanamoku, McMaster instills the dedication and love of this rising sport. "God: first, family: second, paddling: third. That's my philosophy," says McMaster.
