USB drive loaded with British military troop movements found on floor of a nightclub
Apparently more than 120 sensitive USB drives have been lost by the MoD since 2004. Why why why would an MoD person take such a sensitive piece of information with them to a nightclub? *facepalm*

The amount of sensitive data being misplaced in this country is becoming laughable.
-

could be like if you like to drop of top secret information on a regular basis and feel you need to see the rest of this video got to http://www.armyjobs.mod.uk

This is happening way too often! Did this used to happen all the time and we just didn't hear about it? Or is there some kind of malicious pen drive thief busily worming their way into government offices to nick stuff then leave it in odd places, in order to reveal huge security flaws? If so, they're very effective.
-
And I'm pleased to announce that the company responsible for the last major data loss has now been axed by the MoD.
This makes me cringe every time I hear about another lot of sensitive data getting 'misplaced.' I wonder if the same bludgeoning mistakes happen so often in other countries.

It is crazy how often sensitive data get lost and if that was not bad enough, the places where these information are found are getting more and more obscure. Why would anyone go out clubbing while carrying a USB stick loaded with secret information? Bring on the conspiracy theories!

easy. just change the military movement plan.

Come on, it's easy, we've all done it ... Sitting on the train get up and next thing you know ... Where did the folder/flash stick of extremely sensitive government documents get to? School boy error as they say ... Maybe not?

This is getting beyond a joke. This what, the fifth or sixth time this has happened in under a year? What the hell is going on?
-
I'm surprised England hasn't been taken over yet if this keeps going.
-
Didn't NIN do this same exact thing? Maybe it's just some kind of viral marketing ploy?

Why don't they just use Ironkeys? Encrypted and hardened against anything and everything. This is the kind of thing they were designed for.
