"What do they say about it?"
"Uh...Duhhh?""One or two pieces of fruit per day is fine, but commercial fruit juices and any products containing high fructose corn syrup are more dangerous than sugar and should be removed from the diet."

Compared to recent campagn "ads", I'd rather have half-truths than untruths.
Okay. Neither. -
Make your own stuff at home using cane sugar. It's hard to compete with the soft drink makers, but you should try. Unsweetend juice with ice is just as inviting as any soft drink. Add cane sugar if you must. A homemade cake is just about as easy as a mix and tastes so much better. Cook from scratch. You can choose your ingredients and avoid the corn sweeteners and chemicals.

Thank you for the post. My dad actually told me about these ads this morning. Such a bunch of BS and I think it's interesting to note that the amount of diabetes and obesity started to increase since the 70's when Nixon asked these people to start working on other ways to use corn. Hmmm...a coincidence? Doubtful...
-
yea. this is so low. just when it seems things can't get any more ridiculous- surprise:) they come up with this crap.
What even more unsettling is that people will watch these commercials and think that HFCS is just fine. And all the progress that we have made with informing consumers about the Food Industry ploys will go straight down the tubes.
Commercials like this should be illegal!

I'll bring the bong if you bring some papers and roll up some dollar bills too cus we're gonna party-

"And thanks to my colleague Andy Bellatti who points out that another website run by the Corn Refiners provides a disclaimer: “Materials on this site are provided for informational purposes only, do not constitute legal advice and are not guaranteed to be complete, correct or up-to-date.” Oh. Maybe that explains it."

"Our consumption of fructose has gone from less than half a pound per year in 1970 to 56 pounds per year in 2003".
How is that?
Start reading labels, the innocent 'corn syrup' is in food like pretzels, hamburger buns, mayo, soda's, breads, on and on....
Why does everything seem to need to be sweetened?
It seems we have become so addicted to sweets, that all food must be sweetened, and to top it off, yes it sells more [processed food] $$$$
-
WOW. I'm not surprised though.
-
What do they say about it?
That uh... it's linked to diabetes, and colon cancer, and liver disease?
-
This is just as dumb as the anti-marijuana adds they've put out...
-
"A sugar is a sugar, whether it comes from honey, high fructose corn syrup, table sugar, or fruit juices. Nutritionally they’re all the same. Moderation is the key."

Do you ever sit at the train tracks watching all those cars full of straight corn syrup go by and wonder "where the f*ck does all that corn syrup go to?" "oh yea, in EVERYTHING!"
Don't trust processed anything. It's only done for profit.

This is hysterically funny! It shouldn't be but it is.
-
it actually cost more for high-fructose corn syrup then sugar. High-fructose corn syrup takes more energy to produce and they are subsidized. Though the consumer may pay less, overall we pay more.
Oh and one more thing they contribute more to global warming then sugar.
-
i first saw this commercial half on mute and i thought it was AGAINST corn syrup
WTFFFF!?plus that shit makes me queasy

This is propoganda that is really, really transparent. It's even more uncomfortable watching big business bullying the voice of reason on something so harmful to the health of our country as HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP!!!!!
It's amazing...AMAZING...to see this happen. The only good thing that can come of this is that people learn how to stand up to socially powerful influences in order to come up with good reasons to reject what is harmful for them. EVEN under peer pressure!!!!
